...and the NOMAD Art Bus Project. This one's a big one...literally. The idea is still taking shape, but now that I know it IS going to happen I'm more comfortable sharing it with you. It's an organization called NOMADstudio, (the Neighborhood-Oriented Mobile Art & Design Studio). The first major project... Continue reading

Thanks Rachel...I've got lots of stuff in production and I'm excited to share the progress and the work! I'm making it into the studio almost every day now and the shop should be full again by fall...in the meantime I'll do my best to break away from the workbench every so often to post updates. Hope all is well there in NY! xoxo

Wow, hi! So, despite what has probably seemed otherwise, I DID make it out of the jungle alive...well, more than alive, and I realize how completely cheesy this sounds, but I came back feeling new...like the jungle took me in,... Continue reading

Today I leave for Peru for six weeks. My plans are to sit in the breathtaking Peruvian Amazon and breathe...look & watch, listen & hear, smell, taste, touch and feel...really REALLY feel. Six weeks in the rainforest becoming inspired...becoming an... Continue reading

Good point! Luckily I was just poking around that day and not in need of anything specific.

I usually like to post a direct response to any and all comments left on my blog, but, you know I'm not quite sure what to do here...so I'm just going to have to leave it at this. Thanks for your inspired comments guys.

Thanks Rosie...I still smile when I look down and see them. I'm wondering if I close my eyes and click the heels together...maybe I'll get an extra dose of creative inspiration...worth a try! ;)

You could make that a mission Margaret...happy but shard-proof kicks...let us know when you find them!

Ha...I love it Heather! Mine make me happy too...zebra stripe head to toe might be a little much, but a pair of sweet ballet flats is just the right amount of happy! And apparently the happy factor is contagious or addictive or something if your sister found them ridiculous at first and then needed a pair herself! Cheers!

Totally backfired! I still mourn that coat from time to time. No regrets though girl, we're all doing our best

Of course you would think so Jane! I could TOTALLY see you rockin' a pair! xoxo

I'm not generally the kind of girl who makes purchases impulsively. In fact if I see something at a store that I really want I usually leave without it and only return if I find myself still thinking about it days later. Continue reading

I've had two, 8-hour days in the studio, so now it's time for an update and a long-overdue "Today's Desk". Here's where it all started yesterday morning, with the template attached to a stack of riveted sterling. Next all of... Continue reading

Thank you Heather, I'm so happy that you've found some inspiration here. And thank you for your kind words regarding my personal story as well. It has been the most difficult thing I've ever gone through and it still shreds my heart a bit when I find myself thinking about it too much, but it has also shown me that I am living in a world with so many warm and beautiful souls. The outpouring of support and encouragement continues to humble and amaze me...so thank you for that. And I agree with you wholeheartedly about the invaluable lessons part, I think life is full of them, and that is probably the only reason I've been able to keep moving forward despite so many setbacks...I've been so distracted looking out for lessons :) -c

Finally...finally. I'm working. After some unforseen delays and setbacks and a few necessary distractions I am finally in the studio working. I've stayed productive during the time that I couldn't be working on new pieces, mostly with design work, but... Continue reading

Kris- I too agree that there are no accidents, and so after properly thanking you for your heartfelt and encouraging comment I have to put a thank you out there to whatever it was that put you down the path to my shop, then my blog. A friend of mine just emailed me the other day and in her message she noted how lonely it sometimes feels to have a blog, and I know what she meant...sometimes it feels like you're shouting out to a void. With that in mind I want to thank you for giving back Kris, I truly believe that human connection is what keeps us all going, in whatever it is that each of us does. The thought, time and energy I put into my work, whether it is my artwork or my blog, all seems worth it when someone like you puts some thought, time and energy into a comment and makes that connection. And yes, my intention this summer is to work like I've never worked before, so I will immerse myself in my making and hopefully in doing so I will stumble upon a few of the answers to some of the big and small questions that have been plaguing my heart and head lately. Thank you again Kris. -c

How can I just pick my entire life up, move twelve hundred miles, set up a studio, and continue my blog posts without saying anything at all? I'm in Florida now, I know that some sort of explanation is in order. Continue reading
