I tried to share with my wife, but she's not much into Guinness.

It would take me months to build something like that, especially at the rate I build LEGO sets that have instructions.

I really liked The Avengers. It was so well done. For me, the Iron Man movies have been my favorite. That first Iron Man movie blew me away. RDJ is well cast as Tony Stark. And for sequels, IM2 and IM3 were really strong.

Nothing here after I did the iOS 7.1 upgrade. But I don't have my Gmail on the Mail app (i use the Gmail and Mailbox apps for my Gmail due to threading support). So it might be an Gmail issue with Mail (which there are documented issues on both iOS and Mac OSX).

I keep my ticket stubs, too. I have a collection that goes back to the early 80's. In fact, I was looking for them the other day when I posted my Depeche Mode Black Celebration post. They are in one of my boxes somewhere and I want to find them and scan them in before they start fading too much more than they have already.

This year's Lollapalooza lineup is blah and whatevs in so many ways. Previous years that had Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath and Jane's Addiction were so much better. It seems that this year they couldn't find major acts (I Soundgarden would have been good, even though they have played previously). I so want to ditch my coat, too. While I don't want Phoenix heat, I would like temps that don't require any coat at all.

I used to carry all 30-pin dock and mini USB. Now I carry Lightning, mini USB and micro-USB. And one of those external batteries that I can charge all of my portable devices. The micro USB is for my Freedom Pop Photon mifi device and Bluetooth headset (which I limit my use to in the office or at my desk at home when I want hands free convos). The mini USB is for portable USB hard drive. I would like just one, but I admit to really liking the Lightning connector. Easy and sturdy.

Oh man.. I would love to come to Pitchfork. It always boils down to time and money, and the equal lack of both. But know that I would love to finally meet you IRL and at a concert. And Beck? WIN! I saw Beck live only once and only for 2 songs at the first Outside Lands festival in San Fran in 2008 (we got lost looking for a food vendor line that was shorter than 20 people). What I saw and heard, I liked.

Oscar gift baskets are just wrong. I agree with your points 100%. Do something better than dropping 85K worth of products that a celeb should already be paying for. I know the point of the gift basket is to get a celeb to be vocal about it, but that rarely happens since most celebs I hear about pimping certain products are getting paid in a deal to promote them anywhere. I didn't realize the Zip didn't have a built in battery. The Fitbit One I have is really great on battery life. I charge the battery once every 10-11 days and the charger is a USB dongle that I just plug into.

Train car graffiti is all over here in Utah (well, not on the light rail TRAX cars). Most of it is cryptic gang-style words. I much prefer the creative types.

I have an Apple TV and love it. I am considering a second one (for the downstairs TV - the one I have now is upstairs in my office). I am waiting to see if a new model materializes in the next couple of months. eBay regularly has brand new 3rd gen (current) Apple TVs for $85 and free shipping if you choose to buy one now and not wait for a 4th gen model.

I should have stuck to the coffee lid I know best. Although I would say that most plastic coffee lids are somewhat similar in design. This week's guess: one of those sticking eye things that I see in a lot of Wil Wheaton's photos.

I understand completely. So if Nathan was at the age of being able to go to the theater, would that increase the chance of you seeing it sooner? Or just not much a priority regardless?

I have a place for cover songs in my love of music that goes to so many different levels. The oddest is DEVO's cover of the NIN classic "Head Like A Hole" Although Paul Anka's "Rock Swings" album really throws a wrench into the term "odd covers" I like that you mentioned Van Halen, as they did many covers over the years. Which I liked them all. Speaking of VH, Sammy Hagar recently did a cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" with Neal Schon on guitar. It's a different take on the song, but one that I liked. Very bluesy. One of the more intense covers that I embraced early on was the Adam Ant song "Physical" covered by NIN. It cemented my love of NIN that they could take a basic song like that and make something awesome out of it.

I first got on the web in 1994. If you count email, it was years before that. I'm reading your words regarding The LEGO movie and thinking you might have to turn in your fan card (or at least your LEGO VIP card). I've seen it twice now and loved it both times. The second time was more catching stuff I didn't catch the first time. Yes, there is a twist at the end, which if you do want to see the movie, you should avoid spoilers. Dave2 didn't like the ending. Neither did my wife or another friend that took his kids to see it. But my daughter and I laughed all the way through the entire movie and liked the twist at the end. How long before it gets to the library? I don't know if a home video release date has been announced yet.

And it happens. I know this all too well, when my daughter was in her early stages of learning new words and my favorite sear word was "Goddammit!" and then to hear a fuzzy version of this word coming out of my daughter's mouth. And almost as often as I was saying it.

Really loving the Phantogram album as well. That rabbit hole you just went down... been there, done that. Now to retrace your steps from memory (without using this post a reference). I used to do that as a kid a lot.
