I ended up passing on the 7 Slurpees for 11 Slurpees deal last week. I did, however, manage to get my free Slurpee on Monday. And I got the birthday cake flavor (mixed with Cherry). It was better than I expected. 50 years of Slurpees. That's a long time for a frozen drink.

Great to hear Neon Indian was a favorite. Sucks their set got cut short. "Pop Life" would have been a great song to end their set on. My daughter went to see them here (I wasn't able to go with her - major bummed) and she said the whole set was great. I've heard Miguel before and I like his music. Glad to hear he was good live.

For the Salt Lake City area, we are in the 98-99 range for the next 10 days. So I feel ya on the heat front. Although you have humidity, so that makes it much hotter.

Sometimes Love Is A Burrito. That's an awesome pay it forward story. I've experienced this before at Starbucks, where the person ahead of me in drive thru paid for my drink (how they knew what I wanted, or the cost of it gave me pause - they paid $5 which covered at least a grande vanilla latte) and I've done the pay it forward as well. For 15 people, that's a very generous thing to do.

Which is why I normally will listen to it again when I'm awake. I normally catch the first 20 mins of an episode before falling asleep. Then I can re-listen or fast forward to the part I remember hearing last.

Yes, as odd as that is, it helps me go to sleep when I have a lot on my mind. Normal a tech podcast where people are just talking like MacBreak Weekly. Then I normally end up waking up a few hours later with my headphones on when I have to use the restroom. Then I fall back asleep after that.

physical media - 1% (mostly finding older CDs that I've not ripped down) Terrestrial radio (AM/FM) - 3% Satellite radio - 50% iPod or other portable device for music - 1% iPod of other portable device for podcasts - 10% Desktop/laptop computer MP3 playback (iTunes, Windows Media, etc.) - 15% Streaming service (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, etc.) - 20% The desktop is mostly iTunes. The streaming also includes the desktop version of Spotify, which lets me play albums straight through (instead of shuffling on Spotify mobile). I listen to SiriusXM a lot, both in the car and via the app. The 10% iPod podcasts are at night when I go to sleep.

How awesome for both wearing of the shorts and for the kind person to bring you back a tea. Good karma was your friend that day.

This post made me think about this Netflix price change, so I looked in my emails and found one from May 2014 that told me about the $7.99 to $9.99 price change, but that it wouldn't happen for 2 years. So I logged into my Netflix account and it says that my price is guaranteed through at least July 16, 2016 (which is the end of next week) and that I would be notified of the change. I've not seen an email to that effect. So I guess my price stays the same for at least another month. As for other services, we have Amazon Prime (mostly for shipping, but we have a Fire TV Stick that we use mostly for Netflix and Hulu on our main TV and might go watch a movie or TV show here and there). And Hulu, which is $7.99 a month for TV shows. We also have cable, but the deal my wife got was pay for internet and we effectively get TV and HBO for 2 years. Once that deal runs out, we will most likely just have internet and cut the cable cord.

This post made me think about the people I've worked with over the years and how many I consider good and close friends. And that number is about 10. There might be a couple that I'm overlooking, but that's off the top of my head. One who used to be my boss 20 years ago, and my boss 8 years ago, we still get together for drinks, text a few times a week and wish happy birthday to our respective birthdays. I have another who just moved back to Germany in January, but we've known each other 20 years (met at work) and spent a lot of time together with her family. She even went with my wife and I to Cabo San Lucas a year ago April (2015). I would say a lot, I lost contact with, like when we worked together, we would go out, but now just chat on Facebook here and there.

I loved Finding Dory. Such a great movie. And as with Nathan, Hank was my favorite character. Ed O'Neill voice was the perfect match. Theaters packed on Sundays. We still have the "others in church" advantage here in Utah, although each year, we have more non-church going people showing up to theaters and restaurants on Sunday. Small spoiler... did that truck scene remind you of the one in "Inception"?

Yes, that's a very good thing. We got a Keurig for Christmas last year. It's been nice for those mornings when we just want one cup of coffee. I love a good Italian roast. I will have to look for those K-Cups. For now, after we went through the 60 or so K-Cups that we bought, we've switched to the use your own ground coffee device, which works very well.
