I watched this the other day and was elated beyond the galaxy.
Chewbacca...
I have no words for this... Oh yes I do! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Okay, so it's the same word repeated three times. Sorry, I had another post idea but no time to write it.
It was rough... "yes.. it... is.... a.... good.... thing.... that..... you...... run...." pant pant pant.

3... 2... 1... *fizzle* Yeah, that's about what it sounds like in the blogging world these days. Oh well, on to Snippet Wednesday! Tooth Nathan's first tooth is coming in. We can feel it just below the gums and it feels pretty wicked. You can also see it to some degree. A little sliver of whit...
Thank goodness for the good in the world. As Patton Oswalt said in his Facebook post, the good outnumbers the bad.
Ugh...
Several years ago, I promised my grandma that there are some words I would avoid using on my blog. She believes that I'm better than using those words. Nano, please don't read this post. I don't want you to be disappointed in me for what I'm about to say. No, seriously Nano, stop reading. This ...
I think I would end up drinking it all, too.
I did a run today with Kimbot and didn't have music. Of course, I was with someone, so there's that. Which means I need to try a run by myself without music. I'm thinking it might be weird.

Wait, you didn't tell me that the Slash show was only $12... that's a killer deal. I'd see him for twice that price. No wonder you are excited about that show.
I have a feeling that this weekend's SLC Marathon will have many tributes.

Grab your umbrella, slicker, and big honkin' galoshes... it's a rainy Snippet Wednesday. And it is like serious NOAA weather alert rain. Four of them so far tonight. Slash It was just announced today that Slash of Guns 'n' Roses and Velvet Revolver fame is going to be playing at Ribfest in N...
Pretty cool. I like the sketches. Haven't gotten into Game of Thrones yet.

When I was five years old, my parents moved us from New York to Lexington, Kentucky. On one of my first days there, a kid down the street came up to meet me. His name was Steve and, for the next five years, we became nearly inseparable. Steve was a ridiculously talented illustrator for a five ye...

Ho hey! Welcome to another Snippet Wednesday! Incest On Easter Sunday, I snapped this picture of Nathan and his cousin Zoey kissing (or what babies interpret as "kissing"). I thought it was cute as did everyone else who was there. Then I posted it to Instagram and got a comment from some jac...
Tiger Woods is a great example of regaining trust. It's obvious Lindsey Vonn is not a distraction to his golf. Unlike the other few dozen women he was "with" when he sucked at golf a few years ago.

The Bluehost deal I got was actually a Google Offer ($40 for the first year, $84 a year after that - unless they have another deal when the year is up)

Sometimes you just get sick of all the clutter and all the crap. Sometimes a life change necessitates it. Whatever the case, a good "spring cleaning" (even if it's not done in the spring) is a very good thing. We like to go through our stuff every so often and get rid of unnecessary garbage. But...
Kinda. Even though I put "no returns sold as-is" on all my auction items, one item I sold (an Altec Lansing iPod speaker dock) ended up not working right for the buyer and I refunded half the money. He appreciated it, but it wasn't easy offering that.
The last 4 items I listed, 3 didn't sell and 1 was $20 less than I was hoping to get (my wife's old Treo 755p Sprint phone)

I just moved one of my blogs to Bluehost (Scooter Sunday) and I like their lower cost for the first year. The cost will be the same as before once the year is up, but it's nice to enjoy that savings for 12 months.

We are still DVR free in our house (mostly due to the cost, not by choice).
I have been cleaning up and posting stuff on eBay. It's a mixed bag, even though it's nice to get rid of stuff I don't use anymore.

Running without music.... I've never heard of this concept before. I am glad you survived it, even liked it a bit. I might never try this, as I always have a pair of headphones in each location I am at (work, gym bag, backpack, car, home, desk at home, etc.)
Welcome to the teething stage. Keep a flask of whiskey in the diaper bag. ;-)

So much awesome in this post.
First off, RIP to Andy Johns. A sad loss and too soon, on many levels.
Secondly, that you found this from Eddie Trunk. Love Eddie and his love of music and reporting about it, both online and on his radio shows.
Thirdly, I owned music on all of the above formats, including 8-Track. So proud to proclaim that I owned many 8-Tracks, many vinyl, many cassettes and many Mini Discs (which I still have almost all that I bought).
And finally, I know all of those producers and the bands they produced and always thought their names were more important (in some aspects at least) than the band name they made the records for. Ted (Van Halen), Glyn (The Who), Bob (KISS) and Mutt (Def Leppard) will always have a place in history for the legendary albums they helped make.
Tu(n)esday: Andy Johns...
Remember the days before music was primarily consumed in digital format? Back when you visited record stores and department stores and purchased vinyl, 8-tracks, cassettes, CDs, and mini-discs from your favorite bands? Well, I never purchased 8-tracks, but I did buy music in the other formats. ...
I did not know April was National Grilled Cheese Month. Perhaps if I eat enough grilled cheese sandwiches, it will stop the leakage.
Thanks for the mention on BL's 5th.
April Fool's Day...
I'm terrible at April Fool's Day pranks on my blog. I tried it once and I felt so bad after pulling the prank that I decided never to do them again. Last year, my plan was to announce that Katie was pregnant on April Fool's Day and see who, if anyone, actually bought it. Just as I was about to p...
Kudos on the progress. Which reminds me to post mine this week.
2013 Goals: March Recap...
We're officially a quarter of the way through the year. Nathan is more than half a year old. Spring has arrived. I guess this means it's time to recap my 2013 Goal Post progress! 1. Convert old site to Typepad As any of you who are subscribed to my RSS feed know, I did finish a few more months ...
Now that Easter Bunny is so much more normal and pleasant... unlike the one I posted the pic of on my Tumblr page.
Nathan is a trooper.
Happy Easter...
To you and yours, a very Happy Easter! From Nathan (and Katie and Kevin)
Wow. that is crazy. Things are supposed to be easier not harder in this age of internet access.
Ease of use...
Yesterday, I received an email from a musician of whom both Katie and I are fans. We've seen her play live three times and have loved it each time. Naturally, since I rarely get to go to concerts with Katie (she doesn't go to Pitchfork due to a severe fear of festivals, crowds, and smelly hippie...
Exactly.
Equality...
I'm ready for it. You? I only wish I could be in D.C. to gather with everyone else. Live updates are available at www.hrc.org/standformarriage.
Yes, it does. All kindness aside, I really don't like associating myself (especially so online) with those who are so against equality for all. It makes no sense to me to be that against something that seems so natural to support.

I did the same thing to a high school friend over the same subject matter and other Judgey McJudgerson posts, both public and private. Unfriend. Done. Much less toxic now.

I see a lot of people in my Facebook friends list that are against same-sex marriage, but most are those I grew up with back in my previous life as a Mormon. But for the record, I've always been for equality... religious or not. It's just plain simple to treat everyone the same.

I might have to jump on the Feedly bandwagon here. My only apprehension is that I really like the Reeder apps on my iPad and iPhone and am waiting for them to see what direction they are going to go in before Google Reader shuts down.
I think the Google Reader shutdown took many people by surprise. And then that surprise turned to "WTF, Google"

Welcome to another Snippet Wednesday! The fun begins now. [editor's note: the use of "fun" is very loose by definition] TV Is it strange that I cannot wait until the end of the current television season? We've cut back on so many shows and, yet, I feel we can cut back on more. If the fact that ...
