Thanks for the comments! @TJ: Your paper stealing is another important example of re-using! I wish more people would do that...I, of course, have a weakness for pretty new paper products, but perhaps it's time to change! @Daphne: Let me know when you get back to town--I will join your crusade to include bottles in Omaha recycling, no matter how dangerous it is...

Hi Jara, I've been to the Omaha zoo a couple of times and I LOVE it!! It is one of my favorite places in the whole city (the gorillas are my fave). I do need to check out the lakes and wildlife, however, especially because I have always wanted to take up fly fishing as a hobby. Any recommendations?? Liz

Funny you should ask, Hannah. My songs were: 1. "Happiest Girl in the Whole USA" by Donna Fargo, and 2. "Magpie to the Morning" by Neko Case.

Hi Daphne, Thanks for looking at my blog--I am glad you like it! The church that I was talking about is Church of the Resurrection in North Omaha (on 30th and Belvedere). It's a really great place--a wonderful community that is really engaged with the city. Check it out if you can! I have heard of Word Made Flesh and I have had fun looking around the website. What a great ministry! I am arriving in Omaha in July and my position at All Saints Episcopal Church (93rd and Blondo) starts in August. Maybe we can meet up when you return from your sabbatical? What will you be doing in Minneapolis? Thanks again for the warm welcome! Liz

Hi TJ! I've never had reindeer sausage, but I have had moose jerky...and I loved it!! You MUST stop by Omaha next time you are traveling across the US. It's right in the middle of everything! And by everything I mean the country...literally...
