Thanks Agnes. Bob Marley rules!
It was a place I would love to stay again and would recommend to anyone!
I can't say it any better than Bruno Mars: I can't even speak Hawaiian, but if you go there and listen to a Hawaiian song, you get captured because it's so beautiful, like the melody is just gorgeous and you know Bob Marley is on the radio every single day.... Continue reading
I really want to give a nice review to a wonderful hotel I stayed at in Lake Garda. this hotel is in the area of Sirmione and is called the Hotel Olivi Thermae and Natural Spa. The views from the rooms were spectacular of the lake and I could see... Continue reading

Thank you for one of the kindest comments I've ever gotten !
Above photo is of myself, my father and my daughter who was visiting from out of state. One of my favorite parts of Florida is the Naples area which is in the southwest part of the state. I have relatives there including my father so I get to visit the... Continue reading

That is wonderful that you did mission work in Central America and helped after the Katrina disaster!
The Salt of the Earth chronicles Sebastião Salgado's career. You can see his photos here. I highly recommend taking a peek as they blow my mind! Not only did this movie inspire me to work on my black and white photography, but it also changed my thoughts and goals regarding... Continue reading

Visiting Isola del Garda was one of the highlights of my trip to Lake Garda in Italy. The Villa was one of the most gorgeous structures I had ever seen as it literally took my breath away! It was explained to us during the tour that the villa's architecture and... Continue reading

The building of Scaliger Castle started in the late thirteenth century. It can be seen from all over Sirmione on Lake Garda. I visited the castle and loved the beautiful and picturesque views from the top in spite of the 140 steps up it takes to get there! The above... Continue reading

I taught in an inner city school system for a while and the kids wouldn't see their parents many nights. More than 90% of the children got free lunch so I'm not sure the parents had money for clothes.
Yes it is stifling to some degree, but kids can still where what they want outside of school activities.
Very sad but true Megan. It would give kids one less thing to be mean about and one less distraction in class I would hope.
Very well said Sicorra! In a perfect world all children would have parents at home to dress them appropriately and the money to do so, but unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world.
I visited Italy for the second time in September 2015 I loved it the second time as much as I did the first time. It really just made me want to visit a third time! My first trip was to Florence, Venice, and Cinque Terre. This last visit was to... Continue reading

Thank you for not making me feel so silly :-)
Thank you. It is a great place to relax and is safe as well :-)
One of the reasons I chose to visit Curacao over other Caribbean islands was the colorful architecture I saw in photos on the internet. I love color and definitely was not disappointed. Here are some photos of Willemstad which is the capital of Curacao. I generally don't shop in general... Continue reading

Being a former educator I'm always interested in what the school systems are like in the counties I visit. I've noticed that many if not most countries I've visited require students to wear uniforms. While I was teaching this topic was debated frequently. I personally saw students berated for not... Continue reading

Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts Sage. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who doesn't see this as a black and white issue :-)
When I stayed at the Royal Aquarium Resort in Curacao, guests had free access to the aquarium right next-door. I haven't been visiting zoos or aquariums over the past few years. I've been very involved in animal rescue for about a decade. My husband and I have had at least... Continue reading
