Couple of things here Dick. First, while I greatly respect the service of veterans this is not the place for this discussion. The fact that you would post this on my business page shows a lack of respect and propriety on your part. Secondly, you are misinformed about Jefferson Barracks Park and Sylvan Springs Park. They were never part of, or intended to be part of the national cemetery. They were deeded to St. Louis County for use as open space and recreation area for all citizens. While you are a proud veteran who, as you said, fought for the freedom I enjoy to day, I might remind you that one of those freedoms is to voice my opinion on this matter and that you would tell me to stay away from the park and be quiet flies in direct opposition to the freedoms you proudly take credit for. Lastly, I worked my entire thirty year career protecting the hundreds of thousands of citizens who visited these parks and I take great exception to your suggestion that I go away. Your attitude and intolerance for anyone who does not agree with is is a disservice to veterans and what they fought for. After many turns and twists we came on this old home. It is ten times the size of the usual home of that era in the Ozarks. Most homes were simple one and two room buildings. Life in the Ozarks has always been a hardscrabble existence. Continue reading

This is a little shut-in along a creek in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways in the Missouri Ozarks. An old mill sits just up the hill to the right. Klepzig Mill was a small local operation using the water from the creek to power the grindstone. Continue reading
