For the past couple of weeks, I've dedicated some time to my hexie project. It's a [very long] table runner for my [very long] dinning table. I'm in the binding part and for that I had to make some research.... Continue reading

Lots of reading, drawing, carving... the creative juices are flowing. This one still needs some cleaning but I won't get ride of al the "gestures" around it. I'm wishing I can show at once everything I did this week... Yet I decided this was a one print a week deal... Continue reading

I've been working on this print in my little studio time. It's far from what I ambition. I keep coming back to it trying to learn something from this plate, and I still don't get it. All I feel is frustration about it. It's busy and noisy... Yet, I'm still... Continue reading

Three times the fun, three times the love that was given to these three Semi-Fantastic Mr. Fox on Valentine's day. It was a long time since I gave the girls a handmade present, and I missed doing so. This pattern... Continue reading

Truly, printing these little linocuts only once is not fun, the possibilities are endless. Yet, I have no success at finding the right paper. I do know that I love Hahnemule paper in warm white which is not available in this city. I still have 8 huge sheets of it... Continue reading

Little by little I'm finding my way back into my own images, my own creative experience. I'm letting my self go into a creative journey in which no theme or preconceived idea is auto-imposed. I draw a dove carrying a string of flowers and I wondered where they came from.... Continue reading

I'm wishing days have more hours and weeks more days. My box of hexies is always by my side or in the car for our various trips to many different classes and appointments. I know they do take forever but... Continue reading

It's never late, right? I tried to post yesterday but my Mac decided it was time for an update that took it most of the night, and most of the morning to install all the updates. Any way I was dubious about how to address this post. The thing is... Continue reading

Continuing in the posting of my crafty endeavours, I realized that this branch arrangement was not posted either. Last year, many of the trees in our neighborhood got a big trim. I picked a few branches to see what I... Continue reading

This quilt is beautiful!! I love the red and white quilts too. I actually bought a big-big red and white quilt at an antique store two or three years ago in Canandaigua, NY. I felt all shaky with emotion when I walked out of the place with my quilt in a bag, I couldn't believe it. I want to hand it on a wall but I wonder if it will get damage by doing so. It looks as if it was loved/use for a long time, so the fabric is thin in some parts. I'm off to check you free pattern! thanks for sharing it.

I didn't realize I haven't share with you my new blog. Well, it's up and running but it still needs some work. It is about printmaking. Yes, I'm a printmaker, that was my major in college and I actually did... Continue reading

"Eres la neta del planeta" means more than "you are the best," maybe like "you [super] rock." I wanted to make a Valentine's Day print with a Mexican twist. We Mexicans have a really fun way to express our feeling, I feel like there can be a whole series based... Continue reading

I was looking around here wandering if I stopped al together in all things "fabric." It turns out that not at all, I'm still into the sewing, quilting, making; it's just that haven't post much about. It's my loss 'cause... Continue reading

I finished my reduction print last Tuesday. The fourth and last color was purple. I'm glad I took the time to mix some ink until I was sure about the shade; it started as a dark blue, to dark purple to a lighter shade of purple. The little bird was... Continue reading

I just printed the green leaves of the reduction print I've been working on. I gave a lot of thought to it as to how to print just green leaves and not to have the green ink invade the whole print. I wanted it to be just a bit green... Continue reading

Second color of my reduction print was added to the print. I was really confused about the registration I did: the wrong way. I found a tutorial that refreshed my mind about “registration” in printmaking. What I saw in this video I'm sure is pretty close to what I learned... Continue reading

I wish I printed two colors of this reduction print this week... Sometimes, when I'm at my studio, I forget about my mundane life and wish for the hardly possible. This week I learned that: When starting a plate do work on it until the end; otherwise I'll forget about... Continue reading

It took me forever but it's finally done. I started my orange peels quilt in March 2013 when I was waiting for my sewing machine to arrive. As you may imagine, most of this quilt was sewn by hand; it... Continue reading

Good morning!! It's Friday morning and I'm so excited to report that once more I finished the task of making one print this week. I traced my image into the linoleum plate before Christmas and it was left alone when the relatives arrived. They're still around here but I'm sticking... Continue reading

“Ella” or “She” is one of my first attempts to make a decent print. The previous sketches came pretty good but the first time I tried to carve into the linoleum "She" came out with buggy eyes. Should I show you the whole process?? maybe next time. The little dent... Continue reading
