I really enjoyed The Lovely Bones - oddly, since the starting point is a murder. But it had a comforting and hopeful view of the 'afterlife'. Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel which I am reading now, is a fabulous tale which I strongly recommend. A great story which many will know already (Henry VIII's desire to marry Anne Boleyn)but seen from a different perspective. Brilliant writing, very readable.

Harriet - you asked about the stitch count. I have one less stitch than the chart after the increase row 16, and I am sticking with that number and just ignoring the last stitch on the chart. By the way, I sent a message to your Facebook using my daughter's login.

Thanks for designing such a great practical and pretty bag - and with my name written all over it!

Thank you, Sherpa, for your lovely comment! I love Ysolda's designs and would like to tackle the Ishbel shawl next. Good luck with your marathon walk - 26 miles on foot, whether walking or running is a huge achievement. And the perfect antidote to training is feet up, with a cup of tea and...some knitting!
