Hi Stew Thanks so much for your question. Metric versus Imperial measures, does create its share of problems. You could consider using washers to help stabilise a loose hole. As for metric drill bits, they are definitely available, maybe not locally in some areas. When all else fails, a quick search Ebay provides a variety bits available for the job. Consider buying several bits, as some crockery can prove tougher than others, and you want to avoid overheating your bits as that can blunt them. Hope this helps, good luck with your project Cate
