Hello, I hope you are having a good week. My Monday started off well, but then turned into a day so many would rather not have happened. My son and family live in the Oklahoma City area where the tornadoes have blasted the area for the past two days. Fortunately they are okay, but others are not. My prayers are with them today as the clean up continues. Elsewhere over on the ColourQ, the challenge colors this week will test your imagination, they did mine. The colors are, Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze, More Mustard and Really Rust. Check out the... Continue reading

Last Saturday was Armed Forces Day and although not much is made of the day, I wanted to make a red white and blue card in honor and memory of those who fight for our freedom. Today while I was working on a DT card, which had to get made first, I had the TV on following the news. Tornadoes were again moving into Oklahoma City where my son, dil, and grandchildren live. I finished posting my card on the DT blog and went to work on pizza dough for supper. In the time it took me to make my... Continue reading

Tonight I finished up five tags made with the new In Colors. I love each color and hope that you will as well. Each tag has the same design, with a little different configuration. I tried to use the card stock in conjunction with stamping to let you see the real colors. There is stamping on colo, on white, embossing and lots of patterns. Hope you have a favorite color, a favorite tag. Strawberry Slush Baked Brown Sugar Coastal Cabana Pistachio Pudding Crisp Cantaloupe I love the names as well. Do you take time to read this post or do... Continue reading

Happy Birthday Natalie and of course today is my husband, David's birthday as well. This week over on the ColourQ, the colors are fun, happy, and fabulous! Arielle gave us these colors to work with, Basic black, Ruby Red, Calypso, Certainly Celery, and white. Check out the other designer's this week for inspiration with cards and layouts, then join us with yours! I did not have any stamps that matched the inspiration photo with clean... Continue reading

It seems like every time I turn around I am late with online posting! Yesterday was no exception. My sil, Darla came to visit with my niece Deborah on Thursday. We had a fun time and supper out at my favorite Deli. She brought me the beautiful flowers shown below. I put them in the dining room Sunday and immediately Daisy was up on the table and had nibbled the rose while I retrieved my camera. I had to turn the rose to the back for this picture. The Lilies are fully open today and gorgeous! Thanks ladies for the... Continue reading

Hope you had a good Tuesday. It was another beautiful day here, we were in the 80's, but there was a nice breeze. I stopped to take pictures this morning so I could share with you my first tomatoes and peppers. I also have a picture of my gigantic Catnip plant, which all the cats think is just heavenly, but Bugsy spends the most time eating the leaves! I worked late this evening on my metal bird. Here is a sneak peak at the work in progress! I planted three plants inside a bird cage that I planted in the... Continue reading

May is a month when a lot of things are happening, Mother's Day, last minute school and sports events, and of course graduation. I don't know anyone graduating this year, but there is always a reason to have a good card on hand. So tonight I made a fun card, using punches, glitter and shimmer paper. My colors are red white and blue, red glitter and silver shimmer paper. I stamped versa mark with a chevron stamp, added heat and stick powder then fine red glitter. I think I will never run out of glitter, a little jar goes a... Continue reading

May 1 is always been a special day for me, it was my dad's birthday. For as long as I remember, my mom always made it a special day. My dad loved this and we always had a wonderful celebration. But what about after they someone special is gone? Today would have been my dad's 98th birthday. He was not here to celebrate, but I was here to remember him! Wednesday night I made a card that he would have loved. Dad, I will always love you! I started out with so many things running through my brain. I finally... Continue reading

There are so many retiring stamps sets this month. I am really sad as almost all of them are ones I use all the time. This set is one of the best for Father's Day cards and I will continue to use it. This is the first card of three I will make this week using this stamp, I will just use different colors. I have a kraft card base and have a dsp mat with a dsp frame using retired papers. My water color uses a blender pen, and ink pads in retiring Riding Hood Red, Lucky Limeade and... Continue reading

Do you ever lose track of time? Sometimes there is just so much going on that I forget things that are important, well at least to me! I so wanted to play last week's Tuesday over on the Moxie Fab World Blog. It was the colors that spoke to me, black and yellow. Now if you look at the picture, it is true that I did not use blue but substituted in some green. Anyway I could not link up because by the time I actaully made the card, today, it was over. Here is the card I envisioned last... Continue reading

On Tuesday, I promised to post a second very different presentation of the colors used for ColourQ challenge #185, Concord Crush, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade and white. I have been absent for a few days because of tiredness due to all the work in the garden and lack of sleep due to weather issues. This card has been in my mind all week. I wanted to create a water color butterfly. This card has two parts and I am sorry I did not take pictures during the process even though it is simple. I will try to do... Continue reading

It's that time of year when I need to make more men's cards. There are birthdays and Father's Day and since the last card was girly I decided to give you a break from flowers as well. I also wanted to try the tie back envelope die, got it Friday! I almost never buy extra things to put on my cards. I have bought so many cute things that never get used that if I can't make it I don't use it. I started with a kraft card base which is what I normally use. I love the neutral color... I have been struggling to find time this week to make this card. This week the City Crafter Challenge blog is celebrating it's third birthday! I have been there every year for this occasion wishing them continued success for another year. Last fall, Cheryl Nelson left the group, this year it is Linda's turn. Linda, I know you will be missed. Congratulations gals on another successful year! I really struggle with cake cards and cupcakes are almost always a disaster for me, but I don't know why. This year I went a little simpler. My card base is Melon Mambo(MM).... Continue reading

How are you this Tuesday mornng? I am here again with not one but two cards for the challenge over at the ColourQ. This week Arielle brought us some subdued colors, Basic Black, Going Gray, Blushing Bride, Creamy Caramel and white. This combination may not be my favorite, but they do provide a wide variety of ways to go with a design! Yesterday, I played with the colors in this first card. If you are not certain how to use the colors, I always stamp images that I want to use and place them on a card. Sometimes I have... Continue reading

It has been raining here off and on all week, wonderful rain! As you know we are always in a drought condition so the moisture is welcome. We are a cool 50 this afternoon with some occasional thunder. I started working on this card last night, as it just seemed fitting. After not posting last night because I did not know what I did not like about my card, I started with a new card base this morning. There are the same basic elements but the designed changed a little. this time the card base is Wisteria Wonder and the... Continue reading

This is no joke, I am actually posting my first card for April! Where has all the time gone? I knew I was spending a lot of time outside, but three months have flown by. I have been mia a lot in the past few weeks. First it was getting ready for the grandkids coming, then it was recuperating from a visit which was last week, plus my husband was gone all week, so now what is my excuse! Well, I will tell you that I am really tired. But here is a card I made for you tonight, it... Continue reading

I have been busy in the garden this week and have no new card today. I do have some photo's of flowers from my garden. Hope you enjoy them and have the best day ever. Narcissus taken in January, a full month early for this flower. I played with the photo in photoshop to eliminate the background, aren't these just lovely? Minature Calla Lilies... Happy Daisies! Don't you just love it when you have a lot of time to be crafty? Today was such a day. I spent some quality time making cards. I also promised you pictures of my newly finished rock patio, 12' x 20'.I got a few along with some pictures of my unfinished wall. Remember I had plants in small containers and placed them on shelves on my fence wall. Well, I have re-planted some of them as I planted annuals. So this will be the first of posted pictures from my yard this Spring. First for the cards, I made three... Continue reading
