I just read on PopSugar--my go-to source for mindless celebrity gossip--that one of the great movies of my childhood was released 20 years ago this week--Pretty Woman. Good lord! Just one more thing to make me feel really, really, really... Continue reading

Three sweet puppies, curled up at my feet, on a drab-and-dreary morning. The sound of them breathing, sleeping, and dreaming makes me feel peaceful. Continue reading

Awww! What a sweet picture of little Miss Bailey. I love pups with personality, and she looks like she's got plenty of it! :)

I'm normally right there with you, Dawn. We can have some brutal summers up here. This beautiful summer was definitely an exception and not the rule. I'm wishing for some cooler temps for you soon! :)

Yes ... definitely better on DVD! At least then you can pause and take a break when it begins to feel a little long. I think the thing I liked most about it was its connection to blogging.

Yeah ... the next time I take a hiatus, I need to at least post and let people know where I am and what I'm doing. I don't blame people for jumping ship when my posting schedule gets so erratic. It's good to be back! ;-)

Farmchick, I will definitely have to make a trip to the McGavock home the next time I am in the Nashville area. I have been to Franklin a few times because my dad's side of the family is from Tennessee. But I never knew about this story or this home until I read the book.

Sue, I've read Cold Mountain, and I loved it. If you liked it, too, then you'll really enjoy The Widow of the South! Cane River is another good historical novel that centers around plantation life. It covers all sides of the story--from the wealthy land owners to the slaves--and is fascinating.
