Hi all! Kay here with a few weeks of Life Documented using the new Daily Grind collection. I LOVE this new line. I have done at least 8 weeks with it, and feel it pulls together quickly and easily. Although I have other holiday lines to work with, I love how I could get a Christmas feel with Daily Grind! Time was short over the last month, so these are super-simple weeks that came together in a flash. That is my idea of success! Here is another (BUSY) week in December. As always I used my Brown Faux Leather album... Continue reading

Hi all! Kay here with a few weeks of Life Documented using the new Daily Grind collection. I am IN LOVE with this new line. I have done the last 4 weeks with it, and feel it pulls together quickly and easily. Here are two weeks in October. While this isn't a fall line, it worked perfectly with the fall colors of the week! Left Side: Sorry about the elk picture. My DH is so proud though! LOL! Right Side: The colorful Viewmaster cut makes me so happy! Another week in October. More fall fun! Left Side Right Side To... Hi all! Kay here with a Life, Documented week to share, as well as a layout. I was fortunate enough to work with the Kiwi Lane templates, and used them on both. I used Smarty Pants for both my week and my layout as well, as it was back to school for both me and my daughter. Here is the full week. On the left side I used a Kiwi Lane template to create an arrow where I placed letter stickers. And on the right side, I wanted some journaling so I used this template which I cut out of... Hi all! Kay here, letting you know I love Sn@p! My weeks come together so quickly when I use this line, and the colors just make me happy! To make my life easier, I take out all of my Sn@p! goodies and draw only from those products. The fewer decisions, the more I get done. It's probably why I am still caught up, and have been for the year and a half I've been documenting this way. Here is one week at the end of the school year. I used a calendar card for the dates, and a plain card... Continue reading

Hi all! Kay here with a few weeks of Life Documented. I don't know about you, but summer just flew by! I am having panic attacks about school starting. I'm really glad though that I took the time to record all of our summer fun. Here is Week 26. We went camping that week and had a blast! For extra space for all of our weekly events, I included one of the 6x8 smaller pages, with 2 3x4's and 1 4x6. In this full page, it's on the right side. Here is the left side without the insert. Here is... Continue reading

Hi all! Kay here with another installment of Life Documented. For these two weeks I used a combination of the 24/7 line, and some Maya Road goodies. Because of Memorial Day I had a lot of pictures, so on week 22 I also used a smaller pocket page for my overflow. Let's get started! Here is Week 21. On the left you can see I used the more traditional pocket page, using Design 3. I've been documenting life for the last two years now, and at this point I am excited to mix it up a bit. So as you... Sometimes I have serious creative block, AKA a severe lack of mojo. So this month I am sharing one of my tried-and-true methods of kick-starting my creativity. In this layout using the 24/7 Collection I did a random collection of shapes around the photo, further embellishing each shape once in place. I find that embellishing in smaller blocks/pieces is less intimidating when creativity wanes. Another technique I use is to block my layouts. Simply put, just use rectangles and squares to fill the space. (Can you tell I'm a math teacher?) LOL! I used Vintage Bliss on this page about... Continue reading

I've been in a scrapbooker for the last 9 years, and I have to be honest. There hasn't been a line I've been as excited about as Sn@p in a long time! The colors make me so happy, and the variety of stickers are PERFECT for Project Life. I am finishing my first year of PL, not having missed a week, and I LOVED using SNAP for the last few weeks! Here is my week of Sept. 24 through 30. This week came together quicker than any other week through the year! Here is a closeup of the left side.... Continue reading

Hi all! Kay here, with another project to share using the "Take a Hike" collection. We are avid campers, and on each trip we are lucky enough to meet the nicest people. This picture was taken our last night together, and I think summed up how we felt about our new friends. A close-up I kept the page rather simple beause 1) that's who I am, and 2) because I wanted the photo to be the center of attention. Products used from Take a Hike: Collection Kit#2500 Expression Cardstock Stickers #2503 Title Strip Elements #2514 Continue reading

Hi all! Kay here with a really simple layout. I am IN LOVE with Summer Fresh. The colors just scream fun! I thought these pictures of Jenna playing frisbee with her dad and I would be perfect with this line. I wanted the photos to stand out though. So I gave them "breathing room," leaving a little space between each. I used the 6x6 paper pad for the papers at the top of the photos. I wanted the smaller pattern so as not to compete with the photos, and because there is less waste. I love paper pads for that... Continue reading

Hi there! Kay here with a mojo-buster for you. Sometimes when my mojo takes a hike, I change something up. Like for this layout instead of my normal 12x12 layout I tried something different. An 8.5x11 layout. I also used another favorite technique, which is blocking. It helps me get past the not-so-creative moments. What do you do to keep creative? And don't forget, Scrapbook Trends is sponsoring a giveaway here on the Simple Stories blog. Comment today, and everyday from June 5th-9th for your chance to win a free copy of Scrapbook Trends' June issue featuring our fun Fabulous... Continue reading

Hi there! Kay here with a layout of my two daughters, and how happy I am when we can all be together. If you know anything about me, it's that I'm a simple scrapper. And this page took me less than 30 minutes to make. I love how all of the Simple Stories elements come together so effortlessly to make a page. I used some of the Fabulous Flashcards to surround the photo, and some papers from the 6x6 pad. I also used some of the stickers and VIOLA, layout done. Supplies Used: Sweet Fabulous Designer Cardstock Fabulous Flash Cards... Continue reading

Hey all! It's Kay, with my first post with Simple Stories. I consider myself to be a simple scrapper (otherwise known as time-impaired), but with Simple Stories I find that my layouts come together so quickly I have time to add a few handmade elements. As a mat for the photo I used one of the 6x8 mats cut out from the 4x4 quotes and 6x8 mats paper. Looks like I pieced it together by hand. Bonus! I then added a few strips of paper, a few stickers, a journaling piece, and the chipboard number. It came together so quickly,... Continue reading
