Hi Luckie, thank you for your comment. Our sister organization KOFAVIV (featured in the video above) has been implementing their own solutions in the camps to try to fill the gap in security, such as distributing whistles and flashlights to women and organizing community watch groups. In doing so, they have provided much-needed essential support. Even in the spaces that women have carved out for themselves, in their homes and community gathering spaces, the problem of a lack of security persists. This is why KOFAVIV has been working with MADRE support to demand accountability from their government and from the UN and to demand that lighting and security be provided immediately in the camps.
