Hi, John. I'm sorry to let you know that we're no longer making Cheetos Mighty Zingers! They were slowly phased out earlier this year. We do hope you'll check out our other great Cheetos flavors though. http://www.fritolay.com/our-snacks/cheetos.html
Thanks for your comment. - Kristin
Cheetos Launches Mighty Zingers
My wife, Janis, and I visited our lake house in East Texas last weekend, and while we were there, we went to the local Brookshire's grocery store to pick-up something for dinner. I heard Cheetos was launching a new product soon, and I had to see if it was on the shelf yet. I found it: Cheetos...
We love the passion everyone has for Doritos Taco! For those who were expecting a different flavor experience when trying the re-released chips, we understand your frustration and are passing the feedback along. For those who love the taco flavor in the bags now, thanks for your energetic comments!

New Baked! Lay's Parmesan & Tuscan Herb
Lately, I’ve found that my snack choices are evolving, and some of my favorites right now are Tostitos Scoops, Stacy's Pita Chips and Baked! Lay's. I blogged about the Baked! Lay's Southwestern Ranch earlier this year and explained the new flavoring process: Real herbs and spices are baked into...
Hi again, Doritos Taco fans! Couple of updates... The seasoning recipe for the Taco-flavored Doritos on sale now is the same recipe as in the 80's - though some suppliers could have changed over the years. So, that could be why some of you taste a bit of a difference. The original seasoning blend was updated in the 80's, and that is the blend we are using now. For those of you who love it (like me!), Doritos Taco is staying in stores after Super Bowl. So, you'll still be able to find it (but will be in updated packaging). Thanks! - Kristin

Ok, Doritos Taco lovers... I have good news! We're keeping these yummy snacks around after Super Bowl! The packaging will change to align with our current design for Doritos bags, but the chips inside will remain the delicious Doritos Taco flavor you know and love. Happy snacking! - Kristin

Hi, Miriam. I appreciate your thoughts. I checked with my internal teams here at Frito-Lay, and the Restaurant Style Salsa recipe used now is the exact same one we used when the product was originally introduced. Not sure why it might taste different to you, but we're making it the same way. Thanks for your comment. - Kristin
Back by Popular Demand: Tostitos Restaurant Style Salsa
When people find out that I work with Frito-Lay, I always get two questions: “What new products are available?” and “Why did you discontinue my favorite product (fill in the blank)?” Even my family asks me these questions: My sister still wants to know when we're going to bring back Fritos Rac...
Hi, Ashley. We are not making Flat Earth anymore. We're continually introducing new products and flavors, and I recommend trying some of the new Lay's regional flavors -- made will all-natural ingredients! http://www.snacks.com/good_fun_fritolay/2010/02/when-i-was-in-marketing-new-product-development-the-compelling-question-we-always-asked-ourselves-was-what-was-going-to-be.html - Thanks for your comment!
Getting Your Veggies the Easy Way
When I was a kid I hated vegetables, and I'm not that crazy about them today. So it's difficult for me to believe the fact that Flat Earth veggie crisps, which taste great, actually provide one-half of a serving of vegetables in every ounce. In our family, my dislike of vegetables is legendary....
Diane - so glad to hear you can enjoy many of our snacks still! You can also enjoy Fritos Original and Tostitos Restaurant Style (unflavored) - both made without gluten. Hi, Katy. I hope you'll give us the chance to bring an even better "green" bag to market -- we're busy working on it now. And, we're still very committed to sustainable packaging and keeping SunChips Original in the compostable bag until a less noisy, but environmentally-friendly, bag is ready for all flavors. I appreciate your passion and thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Our Progress Toward a Compostable SunChips Bag
As a child in the early 1950s, I loved to watch a science program on our black and white TV called Watch Mr. Wizard. I was never very good at science, and eventually turned my career focus to Law and Marketing. But, my interest in science still exists. So, I asked Brad Rodgers, Manager for Sus...
Hi, Patti. I understand your frustration. For now, you can continue enjoying the SunChips Original flavor in the compostable bag -- it's staying that way while we work on a next generation, quieter bag for all flavors. Thanks for sharing your comment!

The Chief Blogger's Farewell
I have mixed emotions writing today because this is my last blog post as Snack Chat's chief blogger. When I retired from Frito-Lay a year and a half ago, our Communications team asked me if I would like to write for Snack Chat, and I jumped at the opportunity. I'm glad I did, too. It's given...

Wasabi seems to be a "take it or leave it" flavor! Thanks to everyone for trying Doritos Mr. Dragon's Fire Chips. For those of you who loved the flavor, make sure to stock up before it's gone! It's a limited time offering -- available in stores for about two more weeks. - Kristin
If You Love Wasabi, Try Doritos Mr. Dragon's Fire Chips
Often in the snack food business, new ideas build on previous successes. One example is Frito-Lay's use of wasabi, known as “Japanese horseradish,” as a seasoning for our chips. (Wikipedia offers a great entry on wasabi if you want to read more about it.) Several years ago when I worked i...
These great regional flavors of Lay's are still in market -- though some are selling so fast, we are working furiously to keep them on the shelves! Right now, we don't have plans to offer every flavor in new/all markets, but we'll keep selling each regional flavor in its corresponding market. If something changes, we'll certainly let everyone know! Thanks for the comments! - Kristin
Lay's Introduces New Regional Flavors Made with All-natural Ingredients!
When I was developing new products as part of Frito-Lay’s Marketing team, the compelling questions we always asked ourselves before launching a new project were: “What will be the next big food trend?” and “How can we adapt that trend to snack foods?” Restaurants always lead new food trends...
Wow - lots of passion for Doritos Fiery Habanero! The flavor was a limited time offering earlier this year, and right now, I don't know of plans to bring it back at a specific time. Sorry I don't have a better answer, but I'll update everyone on Snack Chat if/when it does come back! - Kristin
Doritos Fiery Habanero Back for Limited Time!
With the beginning of the new year, it's back to reality and back to my spin class. I already miss my family, especially my grandsons, who I spent time with over the holidays. It seems like our five grandsons are growing up even faster than our four children did. My wife, Janis, and I really...

New Doritos Late Night All-Nighter Cheeseburger Now in Stores

OK, I have more info on the song in the Cheeseburger Late Night Doritos commercial: The artist is Kyle Andrews and the track is "Bombs Away." Here is more info about him: Born in Chicago, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Kyle Andrews relocated to Nashville in 2004 to start his musical career. His debut album, Amos in Ohio, was released by Badman Recordings on May 11, 2006, and he followed it with an EP, Find Love, Let Go, on October 30, 2007. His second full-length LP, Real Blasty, was released on his own Elephant Lady Records to critical acclaim on January 20, 2009, deemed by many as a "breakout" album.
The song "Bombs Away" is slated to appear on Kyle's forthcoming album, Robot Learn Love, which he is putting the final touches on now!

Jim, thanks for your questions. Each bag of SunChips has a shelf life of 60-90 days, depending on where and when it's produced. The compostable bag will not break-down with water alone, but will break-down in a hot, active compost bin in about 14 weeks. Thanks again!
