Today was our first official day or our art history tour with Karen Pope, PhD, art historian. http://www.artinsight.info/studytours.html It is the sixth trip I have taken with her. Each time, my mind stretches far beyond where I think it can go. Um, so does my body. But that is another... Continue reading

A trip to a small flea market yielded this 3D card from the 50s. You cant see how much the image pops out in real life. Roses play a big part in the history of Catalan, the name for Barcelona prior to colonization. I used the label from the Vichy... Continue reading

Fritz and I arrived in Barcelona this morning. The air was clear and clean, the sky was blue and so were our back ends. The drive from Vermont to JFK was four hours, the wait at the airport was three. Then there was the three hours on board the plane... Continue reading

Campion's Aunt Della must have been quite a woman. Here, she is pictured on the right with her sister-in-law, both of them holding baby Bengal Tigers. This was California somewhere around 1908. In the mysteries of genetics, Aunt Della's face has shadows of Campion's. Because they were so far apart... Continue reading

Layers of floral paper napkin, tissue paper images and frog stamps were the start of this collage. The vintage calling card said Maggie Quarry. We have to wonder who Maggie Quarry was, how she lived and what she would think if, alive today, she found her card had made it... Continue reading
