The sparkle on this coppery Christmas card is hard to see... but trust me, it's gorgeous! And it takes what would be a minimalist holiday greeting up several notches to a real wow. I love using Shimmer Spray on dark colors like black. And it was fun to have Copper embossing powder, paper and shimmer paint all to match! Ready to recreate this easy layout at home? Seems like I need more of these cards than I can make, lately! We've had several family members and close friends get diagnosed recently with cancer. My little girl has a sweet friend whose momma is very close to Heaven. And my darling grandma is waiting patiently to go Home. And all we can do is pray for grace and a strengthening of our faith. I love that a card is a visual reminder that someone is praying over you. It's such a powerful thing, the borrowed strength of others when our own has failed. I've made many a card... Why yes, I AM still sitting over here playing with lace paper. I feel bad for those of you who don't like lace--seems like I've been using it on practically every card, lately! It's just so EASY and I don't have to get out the Big Shot or poke out all the little pieces. It's like skipping to the best part without all the work. This week I've been working on gifts for my teamies that are going to the Stampin' Up convention next month. I had a few bits and pieces left over from making their tags, and turned... Hi friends! Penni and I have been so happy to have you along for the ride as we made our Halloween treats and projects for the year. Today is the last day of our annual series, which I hope you have enjoyed! My project for today is a banner... a medium-sized banner perfect for a bulletin board or large photo frame. It was a great way to use up scraps with the Everyday Label Punch. I mentioned the letters yesterday when I shared the scrapbook page title I made with the "negatives" left after cutting them. A mini banner is... Continue reading

I have to make a set of 20 thank you cards tomorrow and guess which set I'm reaching for? Ahhh... so pretty! I am really enjoying all the different ways to use and combine the soft roses, berries and leaves in the beautiful new First Frost stamp set. You can go with Victorian formality or drowsy country garden looks, depending on the colors you use and how you embellish. I like the balance of clean and frou-frou in this one. You can learn to make this card and six other designs when you participate in Class of the Month using... Continue reading

Welcome back to Day Four of our annual October blog series, put on by myself and my Halloween baby BFF Penni. We had so much fun scrapbooking together for today's projects! My page is inspired by the Cabana Bay resort at Universal Studios Orlando, which Penni and I visited on a girls weekend in 2016. If you've ever been there, you know the spot-on 1950's vibe it has. doesn't the headline remind you of that era? The headline actually came about by accident --I needed Large Letters cut for a banner I'll be showing you tomorrow. But on the way... Continue reading

Ahhhh! I can't wait any longer to share what we cooked up for this post! Welcome back to Penni & Lyssa's eeky epic Adventure for 2018. Aren't these Takeout Treat critters just TOO cute??? I had no idea this little box die was going to be so versatile. I was thinking it would just be a cute treat container that I'd show decorated in different ways with fun tags... instead we wound up with a creativity explosion in the craft room! Any day you use googlie eyes in your project is going to be a good day, right? Here's a... Continue reading

Hey everyone! Welcome to day two of the fall installment of the bi-annual blog series I put on with my crafty bestie Penni! She's a Halloween baby and I'm a Valentine baby, so twice a year we celebrate "our" holidays with a week of fun projects just for you. You can see them all under the Cards, Misc Holidays category here on the blog. I love a good collage, Victorian-inspired card now and again, so I tried my hand at a vintage Halloween card. It was so fun to keep adding layers and textures until it had the feel I... Continue reading

I love plaid! Especially at Christmas. So when I opened my Under the Mistletoe papers and saw these great patterns, I knew I wanted to design a holiday card that really let the plaid have the spotlight. This versatile design allows you to spell different (short) holiday words, like noel, snow, or peace--so you can make them all the same or enjoy a variety of sayings. Use any smaller stamps to create the rest of the sentiment, or just add a snowflake die cut or two and call it done. If you'd like to recreate this card, here's what you'll... Continue reading

Hip Hip Hooray! New accessories have just arrived for our favorite stamp positioning system, the Stamparatus. I'm crazy about this tool already, so this is just icing on the cake. We now have replacement foam pads for photopolymer stamps or for doubling up on the cushioning of very thin stamps.I use that foam pad even without the Stamparatus, it gives such a great impression! You'll also be able to order extra plates for your Stamparatus, so you won't have to stop and change out stamps on your more complicated cards. I've used six plates on one card before! : )... Ten Reasons I LOVE My Crafty Friends: You get it. You get just as excited as I do about a new catalog, a cute set, an easy WOW technique. I can SQUEE and no one laughs, because they just SQUEE'D too! We speak the same language. We see in Stampin' Up colors. We discuss font styles and long-retired sets and use weird acronyms and abbreviations and everyone else looks at us like we're nuts. It's like our own little nerd club. You don't judge. You understand that paper really does call your name and that ribbons sometimes jump into your... Continue reading

Hooray! We have a winner! The person who got this card was the mystery winner of the $100 anniversary gift certificate. Judith Ponton contacted me excitedly yesterday to let me know she was the 1 in 10 whose card contained the prize!! I thought such a great prize deserved a really pretty card to go around it. I wanted to get away from the pastel look I've been in such a rut with lately, so I grabbed the boldest color to hand and ended up with a gorgeous Real Red, Valentine-inspired card that would be so easy and perfect for...
