The leaves hold up quite well in baking. As with all pie crusts, they should be refrigerated after rolling them out and, in this case, applying the leaves. This helps them to retain their shape and eliminate shrinking while baking. I also sometimes place a metal crust protector ring on the pie near the end of baking to keep the leaves from browning too much. In this particular pie, I did not use the ring.

Hi Jami, Cut fresh boxwood at an angle and insert your cuttings into the potting soil. Keep the soil moist by watering and the boxwood will stay looking fresh for quite some time. Julie

Hi Monica! I think of you over in Texas every time I watch the Fixer Upper show on HGTV that is filmed in Waco! I did notice that not only did the alum made my hydrangeas last a week now, the roses look fantastic too. As it dissolves in the water perhaps it benefits other flowers as well. With regard to my chalkboard, I did put it together myself as far as purchasing a frame and adding the chalkboard. However, I did not paint my chalkboard. I wanted one that would last and keep its appearance so I ordered a porcelain chalkboard cut to the size of my frame. I purchased it from Billy Boards. Here is the link http://www.billyboardsmfg.com/Frameless-Chalkboards.html Have a fun weekend!

Hi Jennifer, The key to easy entertaining is to make everything ahead that you can. The pot pie recipe I use is from the Williams - Sonoma Comfort Food cookbook. I substitute thyme for the tarragon though. You can find the recipe online herehttp://www.williams-sonoma.com/recipe/chicken-potpie-cf.html Enjoy!

Hi Linda, I have never experienced the stickiness of the tape coming through at all. However, keep in mind that I am using Alencon lace which is thicker than just a thin lace. When I place the tape around the edges on this particular lace, it is where the actual raised lace appears not just the sheer netting. If youre using a lace with a raised pattern I would suggest placing the tape where that section of the lace is. If youre purchasing a bridal lace trim by the yard, that generally is on the edge anyway. As opposed to purchasing a lace fabric that is a wider with. I always use bridal trim. Hope that helps. How funny Monica! The cookies are cooling, waiting for me to fill them and I was just thinking where I was going to hide them so they would last until Christmas. I’ve been good so far and have only eaten a broken one!

Hi Karen! Thanks for stopping by. I have some serious blog catching up to do once all of my holiday orders are shipped. I’ve missed what’s going on with everyone. I hadn’t considered the weather, but we had a very mild summer with rain (the mildest I’ve seen in 23 years), so perhaps that’s why my holly bushes are exploding with berries. Have a wonderful holiday with your loved ones!
