Linguine with Clams in Garlic Sauce is satisfying to all the senses. There is nothing like a good plate a pasta, then add the beautiful texture of the clams, the kick of the garlic, the bright finish of the lemon and herbs, well, you have a winner. You see it, you smell it, you touch it, you taste it and before the meal is through, you will more than likely be wearing it too! However, the true assessment, separating a good recipe from a great recipe, is the sop test. If you embrace the piece of bread with a reckless abandon and dive down into the pool of broth to sop up the remains of the sauce, well lets just say, this is that kind of great recipe. It is truly easy, fast and fantastic! Continue reading

We are at our last event in Blacktoberfest, Halloween, also my husband’s birthday. Tonight we will have a party with his favorite food, his family and football. His choice of birthday fare, Steaks, a wedge of iceberg with blue cheese, assorted footballish appetizers, and two pies. Yes, not cake, but pies. Blueberry and coconut crème. Each having the number twenty-five in candle form because he is not ready to commit to the number fifty. My recipe this month will be simple and reminiscent of Halloween’s past, something easy and quick for the kids to eat prior to the gathering of all things sweet. Good Stuff! Continue reading

cilantro, cucumbers and shrimp...great flavors for summer. We did a lemon pasta shrimp, among others this month. Shrimp just seems to call for the light flavors in citrus, and fresh herbs. http://madhatterkitchenwitch.typepad.com/the_mad_hatter_the_kitche/

Sounds like a great summer recipe.Just what you would want to punctuate your summer experiences. We just returned from a week in Sanibel Island, which has a couple of good restaurants, but unfortunately the culinary blueprint is fried everything. There is a void of good food with a mid-range price point. We cooked in most of the time, which I featured on my blog this month. Sanibel is my definition of paradise. Food like with flavors like your recipe would be a perfect addition to such a wonderful island. http://madhatterkitchenwitch.typepad.com/the_mad_hatter_the_kitche/
