Well I had the pleasure of checking out Steamboat's newest design/consign shop and had to share my enthusiasm for this new furniture outpost. MOXIE - Steamboat Home Consign & Design moxie definition [ˈmɑksi] n. energy; spunk; spirit. : (a new store in Steamboat filled with fabulous finds!) Green tea body butter - a must have for our ultra dry Colorado skin. Fabulous anti oxidants compliments of green tea. And any product that's tagline is "USE DAILY FOR A BOLD AND DARING LIFE" has my vote! And for that extra "junk in your trunk" - check out these gorgeous mock crock... Continue reading

As a huge supporter of the Arts in Steamboat, I'm disappointed to say that I can't find one area (that's up to date) that lists ALL of the openings for this month's first Friday artwalk. There are amazing galleries in our little town and the First Friday Artwalk is my favorite monthly gathering of art patrons and artists. So I'll just throw in a few highlights for tonight and my apologies to the many other participants who aren't included in this post. I'm going to make a point to make sure that I'm able to get all of the information... Continue reading

It's December 16th and my Christmas shopping is FINALLY winding down. But after weeks of cruising Mainstreet and buying/making presents from everyone in my extended families (including cats & dogs), I always seem to forget about stocking stuffers! Now I know Santa is supposed to take care of the bulk of what fills our stockings, but here are a couple of suggestions for more grown up gifts for everyone on your list. A foot massage! What better way to treat your feet (and play along with the "stocking" theme) than to get someone you love (or like A LOT) the... Continue reading

So the weather has turned a little fallish. Our Indian summer seems to be over and winter is not quite in full swing just yet. What better time to hone your culinary skills at home while disguising vegetables in your kids' dinner? A few weeks ago, my husband, Matt, and our friend, Drew got inspired to make some at home sushi. Catherine, Jacey & I were the lucky recipients of this all day feast. Matt & Drew got all of the supplies they needed for "sushi at home" in downtown Steamboat. Matt picked up his new favorite toy - a... Continue reading

I am soooooooo excited about Ann B. Murphy's show at the Steamboat Springs Arts Council Depot front gallery. I actually had the pleasure of getting a sneak peak on Wednesday and let me tell you, it's FABULOUS! From the removal of several walls in the Depot's gallery to really OPEN up the space to the gorgeous works on paper both framed (and deliberately) unframed. Ann is also doing a video installation in the baggage room of the Depot - I did not get a chance to see that, so I'm really looking forward to exploring this high tech medium as... Continue reading

Attention Steamboat Shoppers! Tomorrow September 4 is the last Mainstreet farmer's market that Fancy Ink Press will have their BEAUTIFUL handmade letterpress artwork at. I think the farmer's market season goes on another week or two, but September 4th is Fancy Ink's last booth rental of the season. I highly encourage everyone who loves stationary as much as I do to please support this amazing local artist. I bought a bunch of cards there myself back in June as well as darling little "plantable" seed paper (homemade too). The cards are beautifully imprinted & packaged - perfect hostess gifts (or...
