TJ, have you seen this? An actual punctuation mark that indicates sarcasm: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/6995354/Sarcasm-punctuation-mark-aims-to-put-an-end-to-email-confusion.html So, you are saying a wink is most often an indicator of sarcasm? See, I thought it was an indicator of interest, cuteness or desire. This revelation explains a lot about my formative years . . .

Ken, I appreciate your thoughts. The general concept behind your idea is that, its ok to infringe on someone's rights to protect someone else's. So, in essence, the law then says, we will put this minority, or social class, or religion on trial and impede on their basic human rights, so this other majority, or social class or religion feels more safe and comfortable. Isn't justice in America supposed to be blind? If we then, are willing to admit that it isn't, do we just continue to scrap these ideals to uphold a better concept of protection and safety? Although certain ideals are not completely attainable, we cannot just throw them out whenever they don't suit us. Justice will never achieve blindness, but we must still strive to keep it that way if we say that all men are created equal (women too!). So, then, profiling is a slippery slope. The thinking becomes, "what's wrong with stopping any latino we see at any point, for any reason? Who cares if they are on their way to a their job, or their friends wedding, or Disneyland? If they just look suspicious, whats wrong with an 8 hour delay at the county lockup?" I don't think that we should fool ourselves that thinking these sorts of behaviors, and profiling cannot get out of hand quickly.
