After a while creating only mixed media canvases, I finally created few LO and this is one of them. The LO is based on Prima products (that I love so much!) and full of layers and dimensions. The girls and the tree are from the Romantique collection, I just cut it from the paper and distressed it a little, and then I attached it with 3D foam adhesive. Under the photo there are two layers of paper and a lace on the right side, between them. I also cut few birds from the Lineage paper (songbird collection) and glue them... Continue reading

Noam and Tamari are BFF. it started at the end of first year in kindergarten, got stronger at the second year, and once they started first grade at school, it was strong and steady. They were born one month a part from each other so just like last year, they wanted to celebrate their 7 birthday this year together. Six weeks before the party Hilla (Tamari's mom) and I, along with the girls, started thinking about a theme to the party. After few ideas, Hilla came up with the idea of Flamenco party, great idea for a girls party. Noam... Continue reading

Another mixed media canvas. This time I used 12X12 canvas with deep edge. We gathered few girls for a creative mixed media evening, and creative it was! We shared ideas and techniques, helping each of us making something different then we use to. For me, it was the first time I used a woman's figure on a canvas and I love the result very much! The background of this canvas I created about 2 weeks ago, but I haven't decided yet what to add it, so he stays like that until few days ago. This time I used pattered paper for the background, I put some paint on them, glimmer mist on a stencil, some stamps and finally I put pink past with stencil. When I started with the paints on the project I noticed that I always use the same colors and the background come out very similar each time, so now I decided to add some new colors and this is how the... Snow is rare thing here in Israel. We have a very short winter and during this time it only sometimes get snowy in Jerusalem or up in the north. This year it was a bit different, it was a very rainy winter and the high mountains got a lot of snow. my family and me scheduled this trip to the north few weeks before and we were happy when the meteorologist announced that it is going to be a stormy weekend and very snowy in the north. We packed coats, gloves, scarfs and wool hats and went to our trip.... Continue reading

This Lo is a continuance to the previous Lo. The pictures here are from the same set of photos that my brother took of me last month. After a set of serious photos I started fooling around, dancing and jumping (it is hard for me to stay serious for long time…) and this is what came out. I used Prima's collection Sun Kiss: the papers, some of the flowers, Lace and Crystals Border and others Prima's products. Love & Happiness Alice Continue reading

This month we celebrated Passover, the holiday that indicate going from slavery to freedom, we also celebrated Israel's Independence Day. These two holidays just symbolizes my feelings these days after last 10 month that were a bit complicated and I can finally breathe and feel free. On Passover, my brother took few photos of me in a field near our parent's home and this photo express the feeling of freedom. I created the LO according to this Sketch I designed for a Sketch challenge in our scrapbooking forum: I used few new products in this LO. For background and Die... Continue reading

It happen to me sometimes that I catch Noam in a special moment, where the light and shadows are falling on the right places, and she looks amazing. This photo is one of these moments. I took it on April Last year, when we went for a walk on the boardwalk in Jaffa, by the sea. The manager of the Scrapbook forum in Israel asked me to make a monthly sketch challenge for the forum members, so this is the sketch I designed: And this is the LO I created from the sketch: Beside the paper, that is Glitz, all... You already know how much Omri loves chocolate and how in a mysterious way he keep spreading it all over his face and body, so here is another example. These photos were lying on my working table for a while now, just waiting for the right moment to come so I will use them in a LO. This moment has arrived in a shape of Prima's BAP for March. I created this Lo at the same time that I created the mixed media canvases, so you can see a little influence of those techniques on this LO. All the materials... Continue reading

Today we are celebrating Passover, in this holiday we celebrate freedom, miracles and faith and also spring and the awakening of nature. Every year few weeks before the holiday we start thinking about gifts for my parents for the holiday. My mom is well known with her habit not to use all the beautiful kitchenware we buy her because they are too pretty.... so we stopped buying her those dishes long ago. Instead, every year I create something for them: printed canvas with photo from their wedding, designed frame, last year I created the hand made Hagada for Passover and... Continue reading

I've been interesting in mixed media for few month now but didn't have the try it yet. All this time I've been following blogs of great mixed media artist and learned a lot. Last Saturday I had a relaxing and quite day so I pull out a canvas, paints, mediums and every thing else and started to work on a canvas. I worked without planing and decide to go where the road (or the paints in this case) lead me. So, I cut papers and glue them, added printed tissue paper, on top I spread paint, more paint and more... Continue reading

Time is the most precious thing there is and it is the only thing that when it gone by you can never return or start over. We tend to forget it sometimes when we are busy with our daily life and we forget to appreciate the little moments that gives meaning to our life and to our existence. Each on of us has his own family, that doesn't has to be blood relates of course, and for most of us it is the most important and significant thing there is, because with our family we share the most special and... I made a webinar few weeks ago on how to work with sketches, how you can create few different layouts from one sketch. The webinar is in Hebrew and you can fined it here: http://www.tfira.net/?page_id=966 For the example I used sketch #261 from Pencil Lines: This is one of the layouts I created for the webinar. Few month ago we went to a family vacation in the desert of Israel and on our way we stopped for a break, to eat and drink something. The truth is that it wasn't a special place, just a regular place on the road... Continue reading

This LO I created using creative scrappers sketch #186. I love very much the Times & Seasons collection from Echo Park and it went perfect with this photo of my mom from my brother's wedding 2 years ago. I just love this turquoise color! The basic paper is Glitz and I also used a lot of flowers and embellishments from Prima. Hope you like it! Love & Happiness, Alice Continue reading

Time is build from a lot of little moments, some ordinary and some very special and there are some moments that only the camera can capture because they are gone very fast and sometimes we miss them. This picture of Noam (my baby) and Shani (my niece) is an example of that special moment that only the camera can capture and we can't see them while they're happening. This photo was taken more then 6 years ago, when Noam was only 3 month old and Shani was about 6.5 years old. Each time I look at that photo I feel... Continue reading

These days we are celebrating Hannukah. Hanukkah is an eight-day Jewish holiday, this is a holiday of miracles, light and victory. This holiday is here to remind us that miracles do happens (if we only believe) and darkness need to be expel and instead of it we need to fill our life, and the whole world, with light. This printer tray I made for Hannukah project. Lately I am in a mood of pregnancy LO and one of Hannukah's symbols is miracles so when I thought about a theme for the project I knew that I will make something related... Continue reading

Another LO for my pregnancy album. This time the photo is of my big belly and I created the LO using Prima's November BAP. I have already enough pages to the album and it's time to start thinking about the whole album, what kind of album to use, which cover, ext. Actually, with every LO I create my desire to build the cover myself is growing, so I think eventually that's what I'll do. November BAP was so beautiful and I felt that it can fit my pregnancy album and especially this photo. As you can see, I hardly changed... Continue reading

Usually when I starts a LO I know what photo I'm going to use, but this time it was different. I wanted to create a new LO for this month challenge on My Mind's Eye blog so I picked a paper that I love and looked for a photo that will go with it. I found 3 photos that fits to this paper but couldn't choose between them, so, I decided to start the design and on the way to add the photo. This is what came out: The 3 photos I choose were 2 of Noam (my girl) and... Continue reading

There are days that I make a decision: Today I'm going to do nothing but create! I put aside all the thing I need to do, clear my desk, getting out all the products I need and start to work. Sometimes I know at the beginning what I want to create and sometimes I take 3-4 photos and few papers that I want to work with and start. Then I always feel if one of the photos I put on the table is drawn to a specific paper and with that I start the LO. Yesterday was that kind of... Continue reading

Few weeks ago, On October 18, Gilad Shalit who was held in captivity by the Hamas for 1,941 days, came back home and the most popular words that day were: "Here he is, He's alive!" Not a single eye remain dry that day, all the Israeli people were moved and excited. The manager of the Israeli scrapbook forum suggested that every scrapper will make a welcome home card for him and she will sent all the cards to Gilad, to his home. This is my card: Welcome back home, Gilad! Love & Happiness Alice Continue reading

Another LO for my second pregnancy album. This time what I had in my mind is a break wall as a background to the photo. After I stamped the black cardstock with Prima brick wall stamp and put the photo on top, it seams like it is not belong there, I felt that the photo need to come out from the wall, like break through it. In order to make the right contrast, I stamp the white side of the cardstock with the same stamp, but with black ink. Love & Happiness, Alice Continue reading

Slowly, step by step, I am making my second pregnancy album. A quiet day get me the chance to make few more LO. My concept for this album is using dark cardstock as a background and the colors for the LO will be from the embellishments I will add. This time I used dotted black cardstock from For the Record collection by Echo Park. The flourish on the left is cut from a paper, "Black Damask" fro "Be Mine" collection : All the stickers are from Victoria Garden collection and the tag is from For the Record collection, both by...
