So...I am going to get a little controversial here, but I saw this post on and it really made me think. What are your thoughts on this topic??? One of the persons on the site posted to comments that they had been sliding down a similar Rabbit hole which to me makes perfect sense...haven't we all been there with "paleo treats!" Veggie Burgers, Meatless Chicken and Paleo Bread 42 Comments Thursday, April 25th, 2013 Let’s take a trip to the grocery store. We’ll start in the refrigerated meat and cheese section. All the ‘usual suspects’ are present – Louis... Continue reading

Happy Birthday to me.... LOL- no seriously today is my 40th birthday and it is "my" blog so I wanted to celebrate with my Crossfit and Paleo peeps! Holy cow- on one hand I cannot believe that I am 40, on the other hand I think it is pretty darn cool to have made it to 40. I am pretty darn happy with how the "first" half of my life so to speak has turned out. I have an amazing husband and together we have a pretty awesome daughter. On top of that I have a job (which by the... Continue reading

According to a public health nutrition study... When people were asked to rate 4 meals based on a written description only, they ranked the meal that included a vegetable as the yummiest. Interesting??!! They concluded that when vegetables are present people anticipate the meal tasting better, perhaps that is because it fullfills the notion of what a complete meal should look like. Love it...let's give it a try-Paleo peeps! Write a description of a meal in comments and let's see what we think- best sounding meal might win a prize!!!!! Continue reading

Happy Day after Cinco De Mayo! So yesterday I had plenty of time on my hands and the weather was a little less than perfect so I decided to cook. What you ask...well I decided in honor of Cinco De Mayo that I would make Carnitas...from scratch. The recipe itself came from Well Fed, truly one of my favorite cookbooks...Melissa the author is a master in the use of spices (and I hate bland food) This recipe could not be easier to make...seriously ANYONE can do it...the only down fall is that it takes 3 hours. Most of that time... Continue reading

Happy May friends...sorry for the late post. My life is crazy wild busy. Promise, next week I am back in the gym and back to good blog posts. Here is something to tide you over from the "kids" over at How To Have A Paleo Friendly Cheat Day Author: John Romaniello A few years back, cheat days were the rage. Initially the idea of “stepping out” on your diet was met with skepticism, but as research emerged supporting the idea that taking a day off could actually speed the rate of fat loss, people increasingly jumped on board. Cheating... Continue reading

Happy last day of April...on to a new month:-) Sue sent me this link last week ( and I thought that I would share it with you all- not sure how everyone feels about making your own products BUT the dollars and cents totally makes sense as well as the fact that there too many strange chemicals out there. Making your own detergent might work for some who are sensative to chemicals, fragrances, etc. Has anyone ever made something like this? I am curious to hear from you. Here is an amazingly simple Do It Yourself detergent that doesn't leave... Continue reading

Happy Monday everyone- I wanted share updated pictures of my Garden...we had our first "harvest" just the other day. LOL - when you see the pictures. But I was so excited...the first of the strawberries were ripe and ready to be eaten. (I may have even broken doctors orders to try one...shhh...don't tell!) I am very excited so far with just how nicely each of my plants has progressed.
