Gail Hapke is a poet, blogger, writer, editor, wife, mom, and college-level writing teacher who is fascinated by the offbeat, eccentric narratives that for her best reflect the surreal side of life on Earth. She is 55 years old and interested in virtually everything, but especially the vagaries of language and literature, art, medicine, nature, music, history, and all imaginable levels of human culture -- with an emphasis on "vagaries." Some might call her eclectic, others might call her easily distracted by shiny objects. She has been married for nearly thirty years and has two children (26 and 15).
Interests: “Absolute power corrupts even when exercised for humane purposes. The benevolent despot who sees himself as a shepherd of the people still demands from others the submissiveness of sheep.” — Eric Hoffer

Jonathan gave us the subtitle, "An Intimate Gathering Place." Maybe it could go back to being that, on a small scale.

I'm right handed, and used to hold my pencil this way when I was in grammar school. My fifth grade teacher broke me of the habit.

Having the little White House image at the base of the Cross is insulting to the Founding Fathers and to Christ. Who do these people think they are?
