Interests: I'm a digital scrapbooker who still plays with paper sometimes, a photographer, and a quilter. And I am not allowed to find anymore hobbies! I'm also married with three kids and I used to be an attorney before I entered the land of SAHMs. Currently, I'm stuck in the midwest and dream of returning to the coast of Maine one day. You will see a lot of scrapbook layouts on my blog, photos of my quilts and ramblings about quilt designs and fabric, along with lots of family photos and goofy stories about our life. I love to have comments on my blog and I love to connect with others who enjoy scrapbooking, quilting and photography so feel free to drop me a line and introduce yourself. :)

Last summer, Emily asked for "an old-fashioned patchwork quilt." I let her go through my stash of fabrics and we decided to dip into my grandmother's fabrics, too. When my grandmother died nine years ago, I got all of her... Continue reading

I’ve felt the itch to start blogging again all summer. It’s come and gone several times but it’s always kind of in the back of my mind. I’ll have three or four ideas all pop into my head and just... Continue reading

I can't remember when Dead Poets Society wasn't my favorite movie. I can't remember a time when I didn't adore Robin Williams. He brought such joy to everyone. He will be so very missed. Continue reading

School is out! The little dude graduated from 5th grade and is now officially going to middle school. To celebrate, I am currently conducting a social media experiment. We had a crappy school year and everyone ended the year with... Continue reading

Hard to believe but the school year is finally over. Unlike most other school years, this one seemed to drag along forever. We're all so relieved that it's over and truly hoping to find a lot of time to relax.... Continue reading

I’m still plugging away on 2013’s Project Life! Only three months left to go and then I’m done. I wasn’t planning on doing PL for 2014 but I’m reconsidering. It’s just sooooo much easier to get it done now that... Continue reading

In honor of throwback Thursday and my husband who was giving me a hard time this morning, here's one of the first digital scrapbook pages I ever made. Read the journaling. ;) Totally true story! Journaling: It was truly a... Continue reading

I was so inspired by the first few pages that I scrapbooked last week that I decided to sit down yesterday and finish Project Life pages for August 2013. And I did it! Pretty damn proud of myself, too. :)... Continue reading

I haven't scrapbooked at all since leaving Designer Digitals in February. They needed more from me than I could commit to and so I left. It was an abrupt end to what had been almost ten years working in the... Continue reading

I so appreciate everyone's support and thought I'd update Libby's situation one more time before updating the blog with the other kids' activities. Libby had another difficult week but it gave us some answers. She set out for school on... Continue reading

Exactly six months ago, I went back to work outside of the house. Most of the scrapbooking companies that I'd worked for over the years either no longer existed or had regrouped and they were no longer a good fit... Continue reading

The Oxford English Dictionary defines courage as: The ability to do something that frightens one; bravery; strength in the face of pain or grief. I define bravery as this girl: About six months ago, Libby started having daily migraines. She's... Continue reading

We are so lucky to have a large, mostly-finished basement. We have two storage rooms that are unfinished but the rest of it is finished and is one large L-shaped space. The small part of the L is a kitchen... Continue reading

I am chugging along! My goal for this year is to FINISH. Finish Project Life, quilts, house projects, and numerous other personal projects that have been sitting undone. Here's July 2013's Project Life pages. All supplies are from Designer Digitals.... Continue reading

When I posted earlier this month about this being the year of me finishing projects before I take on any new ones, part of that goal was to finish taking care of me. It's so easy as a mom to... Continue reading

Three years ago, I made a Colorbrick quilt for someone as a gift. It's one of my favorite quilts and it was very hard to give away. You can see more photos and get a link to the pattern in... Continue reading

I'm an idiot. Sigh. For all of 2012 and through May of 2013, I've done a Project Life paper album. The kids loved it, they added journaling, their own photos and we included tons and tons of ephemera. Until we... Continue reading

I love new beginnings. Mondays, the first of every month, each new season, the first day of school, the first day of summer, and especially new years. I love the way that a new beginning feels fresh and makes me... Continue reading

I'm catching up on Project Life! That is truly one of the best parts of this form of memory-keeping - it's so dang fast to catch up. Even when you're months behind. Here's a couple of previews - as always,... Continue reading

Sharyn and I have a weird, really cool, make-the-hair-on-the-back-of-your-neck-stand-up kind of friendship. We often call each other sisters because we always seem to do the same things at the same time without any knowledge of the other's activities until they're... Continue reading
