its hard! I do draft bodice patterns, and patterns for the mens tunics, but a lot of altering is needed because the kids are so many different sizes. for nutcracker, like party girls, I have used purchased patterns from the fabric store and added fullness to the skirts, but for the older dancers, I just have to look at other costumes that I know work, and copy them and then embellish and make changes as necessary.

Yes! we are so excited. sadie just turned 14, so she is a ways off from college and I hope she can travel more alone after this, but this timing was perfect and we are going with a family friend who is available now. There are no guidelines, one parent goes, its about 2 weeks and I would gear them toward international travel. Whats so great is that they have known about this for a bit and so it comes up and they can research and think about it and change their minds. The middle one has mentioned Iceland but also Africa, and the youngest France and Italy. They have time to learn languages before they go too, because its years off. The planning and daydreaming about it is half the fun. There are trips here in the US I want to take, but Id do it as a family, like DC, and NYC, etc.

thank you! and they love having these journals. I dont make them write in them, just the book covers is enough, but they do write, and love reading what they wrote about books years ago. Its pretty cool. I want one for myself. I try to keep track on goodreads, but there is nothing like real journal. This also would help my bookbinding/fountain pen hobby.

but you dont need the lard! just a food processor! Still, I dont want to deprive you from a lard experience. and my crisp burritos arent as tightly wrapped as the taco time ones, but they still hit the spot.
