When I was a puppy, I couldn’t get enough of the rosebushes in our backyard. As soon as the blooms popped up in late spring, I’d munch them off and run crazy circles around the yard with my ears flopping in the wind and the soft, velvety rose petals flying... Continue reading

Hi Matt, yep...she's a cutie alright! Personally, I like those 'earthdog' hemp collars; they soften right up and don't itch me at all. Woof! woof!

It’s the week before Halloween and the zombies have taken over my neighborhood. The tombstone decorations scare me the most. I’m sure that the crazy-eyed demon cat from Stephen King’s “Pet Sematary” will claw its way out of the ground and scratch my eyes out (is it any wonder that... Continue reading

There’s something about September that lights a fire under my stubby little tail and gets me thinking about ways to improve my concentration and manage my time (maybe it’s all the “back to school” notebooks, rulers, organizers and stuff?). I know I’m not alone, so over the next few weeks... Continue reading

My relationship with cats runs a bit “hot and cold,” shall we say. That doesn’t mean I don’t respect the crafty felines for their tenacity and their savvy street skills (plus, I’m no dummy. It’s not smart to disrespect someone who has claws and isn’t afraid to use them!). One... Continue reading

My chauffeur insists on listening to public radio when she drives me to dog daycare. She says it’s to stay up to date on what’s happening in the world without “enduring the excruciating pain that is the television news.” Yes, she’s a drama queen. Unfortunately, this morning’s radio news didn’t... Continue reading

Indeed, Scott. The sun has a lot to do with emotional energy (mine, anyway). Or maybe it's all those yummy blueberries?!?

Can you start by dipping your paw into the crafts business to see how it goes? As a boisterous Boxer, I tend to go whole hog...but I'm learning that sometimes, it pays to go slow. One paw in front of the other, or something like that. But always in touch with your simple instincts. Office work isn't my favorite, either. Ha! Ha! Woofs of luck to you!

Dogs follow their own instincts—most of the time, anyway. Sometimes, we get carried away by the moment and forget to follow our inner voices which almost always leads to a “D’OH!” moment (to quote Homer Simpson). I knew in my gut that I shouldn’t trust that beady-eyed little duck. But... Continue reading

This week, I interviewed royalty. Was it Prince William? His lovely new bride? No, this week’s ‘Working Dog Wednesday’ features my good friend Princess Zelda, the wise and witty superstar who is famous for her books, greeting cards, calendars, cookies and more. Zelda is a diva, for sure. But she’s... Continue reading

This Father’s Day, I’d like to say “thanks” to my 2-legged Dad with some of the things that I appreciate the most about him. I love the fact that my Dad knows how to: Treat a lady. Dad buys flowers for my Mom “just for the heck of it.” This... Continue reading
