I came across this blog recently, a collection of images from around homes where kids are living and growing and becoming and relating. Each shows vestiges of life frozen in still plugged bathtubs and Barbies folded in half and stuffed... Continue reading

The increase of my chest was the first indication new life was forming within and the pain felt there was both physiological and emotional. Internally, this same area experienced a decrease in real estate as my heart seemed to shrivel,... Continue reading

Thank you for coming out of the shadows to comment, Jaime! It's somehow a relief to know we don't walk these paths alone, isn't it? Your words were a blessing to me today... Hugs, d

As usual, I am the last one to the social media party. When I first started blogging, I thought I was merely producing an online record of my life for me...and maybe a few friends and family members. When I... Continue reading

I have a small collection of old hymn books, vintage momentos from a time when worship songs were sometimes lengthy sermons delivered in multiple stanzas seeped in deep theology and truth. Over the years, I've also been gifted books that... Continue reading

congratulations on six! someone we are approaching 13 and we both have this sense that things do get better...time settles into rhythms of understanding and realistic expectations. it does always seem to get better but never easier. the things fought for and won increases the sense of how awesome we are together but the old things and new that are yet ongoing still require the fight. as you said, "claw your way back to fonder"... as long as we don't quit fighting, that is victory, that is love. may this year be full of rich surprises, mostly wonderful! :)

I'm more of a non-fiction girl - you can get the same amount of drama and intrigue and a good story with juicy details in a non-fiction as you can in a fiction and it comes alive more because it was a life and story that was actually lived! I loved 7 and was a little discouraged when my life wasn't radically altered after reading. I've learned it's all in the steps and heart application, one choice and one day at a time.

Oh, lovely, your words are a beautiful time capsule! With my baby being now just 7 years, I too wonder if I would even know what to do if I opted to go back in time to those baby days! I love your words and desire, to fight the longing to be memory-led more than Spirit-led. These words and your example are a necessary reminder even for me, even in these days of older kids and unfamiliar roads ahead. Oh, God let us be a generation that seeks your face and follows where your Spirit leads...! hugs, d
