Kids can be cruel. Today was the birthday party for Nathan's cousin Zoey. It was a great party complete with bounce house and all and I thank my brother and SiL for throwing it. However, at one point, the kids... Continue reading

Can someone help me understand something? Oh, if you're not a techie, just skip this post entirely. I wouldn't blame you one iota. I've been engaged in SEO tactics for my website at work and Google Analytics measures some things... Continue reading

This Throwback Thursday is quite appropriate given Nathan's birthday on Monday. Even though the picture is not him. Well, not directly anyway. This is one of my favorite photos from the weekly series of bump pics Katie and I took... Continue reading

Again, I'm sorry this is a day late. But, yanno, priorities. Last week's challenge photo was, as I predicted, fairly easy. Here it is... And here is this week's challenge photo. It is a very easy one. But I want... Continue reading

It was a great day today. A train ride downtown. A walk to Shedd Aquarium. A visit to Buckingham Fountain. Cake and presents when we got home. All in celebration of our little man's fourth birthday. Happy birthday, Nathan. We... Continue reading

I make good decisions, that's what I've been told. I will not be fearful, I'll be brave and bold. Or so goes the maxim in Thomas & Friends "Misty Island Rescue." Nathan has latched onto the first part of that... Continue reading

Van Hagar was the first time I truly discovered them. Although I had heard several songs from 1984 at the local roller rink that I just never associated with them as a band. OU812 was my first purchase but 5150 was the first real association.

I went for a run yesterday for the first time since my 5K in February. Well, I should qualify that claim a bit. I went for a walk that had three spontaneous run-like outbursts scattered throughout. Still, I felt good... Continue reading

Back in 1999, I got sucked in by the premise of The Blair Witch Project. The novel use of "found footage," the inclusion of the still-budding World Wide Web to add to the illusion that it was all real, and... Continue reading

I'm about to admit something very unpopular in rock music circles... I prefer Van Halen with Sammy Hagar as frontman instead of with David Lee Roth. The rationale is simple: With David, Van Halen recorded more than a dozen cover... Continue reading

Perhaps last week's challenge photo was needlessly obscure. I've already heard from one friend who said she had no idea these things were still made. "These things" are... This one should be a bit simpler. See you in a week! Continue reading

I'm still in shock that it's been 15 years since we were so egregiously attacked on our own soil by terrorists that we have yet to defeat and, I suspect, we never will. It feels like it happened yesterday, but... Continue reading
