I am thrilled to have a pretty good feel for who I am, and to still be learning exactly who I am.
Interests: Animated movies, The Muppets, old Saturday Night Live, nature commentary writing, Scrabble, baseball (Yay Tigers!), and everything edible (except maybe lima beans or apple yogurt). I have just recently discovered the tv show "Creature Comforts" from the British Studio that did Wallace and Gromit, etc. Love that show!

To put it kindly, this past weekend at Prune Ridge has felt like a rough one. I've been working a wee bit too much over the last few weeks and knew I was headed into some working time this weekend... Continue reading

This is just about the time in the garden when things start to get incredibly exciting! The potato blossoms are gorgeous - looking like little purple or white blooms with a teeny orange-yellow squash growing in the center. Since I've... Continue reading

I'm noticing that I haven't been keeping up with sharing garden bits, even though so far I'm having the most attentive garden season I've had in a few years. My gardens are immediately outside the back sliding door of Prune... Continue reading

A couple of weeks ago, my brothers, my husband and I had the pleasure of hosting friends and family for an incredibly fun celebration - of 35 years of marriage! My mom and stepdad (Susan and Bernie) celebrated their 35th... Continue reading

The Reeds of Prune Ridge spent a few days immediately following Memorial Day "down south" in one of our most favorite vacation escape locales. The Hocking Hills State Park, south-east of Columbus is a stunningly beautiful and surprising place to... Continue reading

This is a funny funny joke to most gardeners. "I'm almost finished planting." There is never a true state of finished. The picture above is actually before planting, but it's the best "full" perspective shot that I seem to have.... Continue reading

There are lots of analogies for multiple sclerosis out there in our many worlds - the medical world, the internet world, the social media world, the "my friend has a cousin who has a friend who has a cousin who... Continue reading

This weekend (even in likely rain on Sunday as I will miss a planting day for work tomorrow) I hope to put the finishing touches on my garden for this year. And by "finishing touches" I mean "I hope to... Continue reading

We have tomatoes on the way! Bloody Butcher and Soldacki (in the balcony planters) are featured in all their glory here. Both with teeny fruits, but well on their way and offering good promise. The Mountain Princess and Black Plum... Continue reading

That is, of course, not true - the gardens are never actually "finished!" I am, however, about as close-feeling as I can be to being done with prep and planting, and ready for summer to do her work now. Yesterday... Continue reading
