It's the second day of weather registering less than in the high 80's I dare assume the longest summer weather ever here has finally ended? Or is it going to be hot again this weekend? This year it seems... Continue reading

Super excited for you! (And well deserved!) Wishing you all good things, xo
What? I know, that sounds a little strange, and it was a lot harder than I imagined when I said yes...let me back up and explain... My friend Paolo has been taking shoemaking lessons for over a year now and... Continue reading

Hello hello! And Happy Friday! Ran across this quote today and had to write it in my journal tonight. It's worth some extra reflection on my part... How much time do you spend arguing your limitations? I hope it's not... Continue reading

The whirlwind of releasing the month long Creativebug class (link in sidebar), Creative Sketchbooking has come and gone. That was fun! I'm still behind on checking in everywhere and can't wait for a break to do so. I owe so... Continue reading

Hi Cindy. I understand your confusion, the wording can be hard to figure . When you sign up, (by giving a credit card that is not charged at time of signup) you get the first two weeks free, so at the end of two weeks, assuming you want to keep watching classes, you upgrade, which means you agree you will start paying $4.95 a month. They believe that once you see how great it is for 4.95, youll want to upgrade to monthly charge if $4.95 for membership. Its not more money than that and you get to watch all the classes on the site as often as you want for that membership. (There are currently over 500 I believe.) as I understand it, even if you cancel subscription, there is still your profile, but youve opted not to pay (upgrade) to watch classes. Youll still have your gallery of your artwork youve uploaded to share, your profile with info etc. Does that make sense?
No apology needed! Just mentioned the above for response time expectations ;) And just so you know, in case you want to read other questions, etc. the discussion/comment section is at the very bottom of all the class "chapters" as they call them. I like to use office supply store pens for these just for fun exercises. I use any ball point that doesn't run when you add water, and the Uni-balls are: Uni-ball vision elite and a Pilot PreciseGrip in Extra fine. Really, I like to try all the pens at the office supply that are extra fine, then I use the one that I like the feel on the paper best. or any .5 tip. I also have Uniball signos with a .38 tip that are really fine for detailed doodling and super fine lines. Let me know if you need more info!
Thanks Emie!!! So glad you are enjoying it!!!

Thank you Kyleen! I love that you are finding it useful to stretching your art practice and I want to see something your boyfriend makes on the class gallery!!!! He should join you in a little creative fun!
So sweet Autumn, thank you!! Hooray for playtime! Oh, and I don't know if you've ever treated yourself to some #alimakesmail, but I've got some artwork that Ali put her words on in her beautiful writing that you might like. She's got a few sets left she said: ;)
So glad you are loving class Sarah! I'm not sure if I've blogged it, it's probably somewhere here: but I'll try to include it in an upcoming sampler post!
Thank you! I think it's all the years of live teaching students that are really interested and artists themselves that enables me to anticipate. And shoot, I'm sorry you haven't found your art friends yet, but you should come to a class- there will be some there and everyone in class will get that part of you for sure! There seems to always be someone that comes alone and feels a little uncomfortable at the outset and before the weekend is over they've met real friends. It's a nice gift to your artist self to be in a room full of support and comradery.Such nice comments about how I come off on videos ;) I didn't feel like myself, especially in the beginning! It was so much easier when I started making art and focused on the teaching :)
Thanks Jackie! Yes, exploring and experimenting and finding new tools and techniques to incorporate in future making. Hmmm...I guess I'd suggest you do all different amounts of doodles on some pieces to experiment with that- do some that is likely too much, some not enough and a few in between and see if you have a stronger opinion of what you like best? Fun "problem" to have ;)
Thanks Kathy! Please don't worry about getting the same supplies in the meantime, I should have emphasized that more in class, use what you have that enables playing. I am teaching live in 2016, no live links to classes yet- the dates and locations are in sidebar and when they go live I'll announce it here and have live links there too. ;)

Melissa!!! You have been MIA and I'm so happy to see you pop in again and say hi! Welcome back to the internet/art world! I'm glad you've been creating and it's never too late to get something going, right? I don't have any projects like the ones we all did before going on, but for sure if I hear of any I will post it! Did you hear that Teesha is doing artfest again?! (That might have been the last time I saw you? Time moves much too fast!) So glad the art world has you back participating! xoxoxo
