i just watered down white paint - and painted a couple of thin layers so as not to have too thick of a "paint" look, until i got to the shade i liked. and then i sanded it lightly to bring out some of the texture. i used my heat gun in between layers because of course i was doing this right when i wanted to use it, lol!

i still have my big camera and use it for some things, but ever since getting the iphone x, i've used it less and less! even for the upright shots now that there's portrait mode.

hmmm, i 'm not sure - do you mean wanting the whole photo to show in an inlinks link button? it looks like the best way to do that is have a square photo. i'd have to do some more digging re: size. can you link me to some examples?

it was an outtake piece from my make it monday this past monday... https://blog.papertreyink.com/2018/04/make-it-monday-319-graffiti-word-art/ the main differences between this one and the on in the video is that i left a bigger gap of white between the two colors and i used hawaiian shores for the ink resist after embossing. i also did not add the dot layer, rather used a white paint pen to add a few line details at the end. let me know if you have any other questions!

if they're stored on your phone, you should be able to navigate to them through the app, but since i don't use google photos i'm not completely sure. either way, if there are good editing tools in google photos, that's very helpful! i've rarlely shot something that wasn't made better by a little editing!

i do have a lightbox for those occasions and, in meeting deadlines, i do have them often! my lightbox is kind of small, so sometimes i have to create a makeshift "open" lightbox - i just use my backdrops or a large white canvas to create a photo space on my white desk, and then i place lights on either side, kind of from above and i still use the foam board to help "bounce" and distribute light where i can. then i edit, edit, edit!!!

i currently use my iphone for almost all of my flat lay photography - it's just so easy! - and yes i hold it in my hand. although i do have an overhead tripod that i can use if necessary. when i take pics in my lightbox, there is a hole on top, so i can rest the phone with the camera lens positioned over the hole. as far as the fishbowl effect, i would suggest not zooming into your shot and/or leaving room for cropping afterwards. if i remember correctly, i had less of that effect with my set lens that didn't zoom.

i also score and press it down with a bone folder (within an inch of it's life!) and i usually get cards that stay closed. when they don't cooperate, i use a single pull of monoadhesive dots on the inside and rub them off as soon as i'm done. because i lift the card up on the ink cubes, if it really resists closing, i can kind of let the back side fall down below, while the top rests flat. i hope that makes sense!
