Did you see Jupiter right next to the moon this evening?

Hi Bittens! I have Celiac Disease and I always offer to bring a vegetable dish or two. And to not make it hard on the host/hostess, I don't eat the gravy & stuffing. One year I brought Karina Allrich's gluten-free vegan pumpkin pie to satisfy several sets of guests and it was a hit. http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/2010/11/gluten-free-pumpkin-pie-with-praline.html If you have a guest coming, just make sure that there are at least two side dishes with no gluten (flour, bread, bread crumbs, wheat flour, etc) along with the turkey. Have some simple appetizers that don't need crackers or bread to sit on or get some rice crackers for the GF person. Generally most GF folks come prepared and if they can't they (hopefully) will eat around it. If you continue to feel a bit of anxiety about it, call the friend/guest and ask them what you can do and what they can do. I had that phone call yesterday with the hostess of the house I will be going to on Thursday, all is well, she is fine with my offerings and I am fine with avoiding stuffing.
"But what clinched it for me was the fact that the Dragoon can turn a regular prime into a mini zoom." As an owner of a Ye Big Dragoon, I can verify Mr. Jacob's statement above. I have gotten amazing photos with a 50mm 1.4G and an 85mm 1.8D, including this past March's Comet Panstarrs and a great heron in flight a football field away. My only complaint about Ye Big Dragoon is that I am only 5 feet tall (154 cm) and have very small hands for an adult, thus the Monster Truck of cameras makes my hands cramp after 2 mins of use. The only camera in the Nikon line up that is small enough for my hands to reasonably hold is the D3100, but the image quality is not comparable to my beloved, huge D800. I wish the D800 came with liitle hydrofoil-style jets and a remote control for me to maneuver it without using my hands.
I love "Air Guitar" and have been known to give it as a gift. "Also, the art world has turned nasty for some reason and my gentility has come out of the closet." The art world has turned nasty as it is desperately resisting being disrupted by technology the way that the music, movie/tv, and photography industries have been radically changed in the last 10-15 years. Thank you for posting this.
Happy New Year to you and the whole family! I hope that 2013 is a year of blessing and laughter.

My favorite place in Helsinki? The waterfront walk near where the Coast Guard/Navy ships are docked, a row of 1920s art deco aparments, a dog park, and wild roses growing along the path. Lovely.

I *love* how a box of tissues/kleenex is provided on the table next to the hot sauce/paste. ;o)
