I've spent a fair amount of time looking at various tables and charts for pressure cooking different things, so when I first saw this recipe for lentil risotto, I scratched my head a little bit. Lentils take a bit longer... Continue reading

While my smoothie recipe is almost always a work in progress, I've settled on the basic fundamentals (for now) of what I like in my almost-daily breakfast smoothie. And while I know people don't believe me when I say it,... Continue reading

No, that's not a typo. As soon as I saw this recipe for waffled falafel, I knew I had to give it a try. I used my own hummus recipe and the falafel mix from the bulk section of my... Continue reading

My friend Renee sent me this recipe, and with a few minor tweaks to make it my own, I have to say it's pretty dang good. As with any tamale/taco/burrito-type recipe, you can play with the filling ingredients quite a... Continue reading

I love salmon. It's heathy, delicious, and really easy to cook. I also really like maple syrup and curry. I have to say that I never in a million years would have put these ingredients together on my own, though.... Continue reading

After very successful experiments with chicken adobo and sinigang, I was definitely interested in trying more Filipino food. Luckily for me, my friend Tanya posted pictures of the lugaw she made, and I immediately asked for the recipe. And then,... Continue reading

In case you haven't noticed, I'm kind of a sucker for one pot meals. I also really love caramelized onions. Which brings me to a minor rant based on the original recipe for this post. You can't caramelize onions in... Continue reading

My friend Penny sent me this recipe at the end of April, and I'm a little bit embarrassed that it took me this long to make it. I finally got around to it today, and everyone in our house devoured... Continue reading

If you've been following my blog for long enough, you might have seen my balsamic soy wings recipe. While it's hard to beat that one, when I saw this recipe on, I knew right away I had to try... Continue reading

It's salmon season and I'm in the Pacific Northwest, so when I saw Coho salmon on sale for under $6/pound, I pretty much had to buy it. I didn't have time to heat up the grill for dinner tonight, so... Continue reading

This is another great and simple pressure cooker recipe from Following the Hasselback potato trend (see here for example), they decided to up the ante and cook a pork loin roast using a similar method. The result: a surprisingly... Continue reading

Last week, we were invited to a potluck dinner and asked to bring a hot vegetable dish. I browsed through my recipes here and didn't see anything that jumped out at me as easy and fast to make enough food... Continue reading

I've been looking for new recipes that looked interesting, and finally found this one that I was dying to try. I made corned beef in the pressure cooker recently and it came out amazingly tender and flavorful, so this seemed... Continue reading

After making sinigang a few times recently, I remembered that I've been wanting to try making chicken adobo in the pressure cooker. I've had a lot of success with my regular chicken adobo recipe, but I decided to look around... Continue reading

I recently bought a semi-ridiculous amount of tamarind paste online, and then realized that the only recipe I have that uses tamarind is pad thai. While I love that recipe, I also wanted to expand my horizons a bit. I... Continue reading

My friend Tom posted this recipe last week, and I could tell right away that it was something I had to try. Simple, delicious, and it makes enough for a few days. I wasn't disappointed at all, this is going... Continue reading

Hi everyone! Haven't posted in a while, so here's something you don't have to have a pressure cooker or a smoker to make. I ran across this recipe while looking for a new quinoa recipe. It's relatively quick and easy... Continue reading

I went for a nice little (6.2 mile) run this morning, and decided to make a recovery smoothie when I got back. Delicious and full of good stuff for recovering. Enjoy! Recovery Smoothie Ingredients: 6 ounces vanilla yogurt ¼ cup... Continue reading

Pressure cooker isn't necessary, it's just more efficient. In a regular pot, cook it the same way, add everything, bring to a boil, then cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes. Uncover, fluff with a fork, and serve.
Another day, another smoothie. Added a couple more healthy spices in to this one and used avocado instead of banana, along with some other changes. I'll use more cinnamon next time. Tuesday Smoothie Ingredients: 2 cups orange juice 2 cups... Continue reading

Inspired by the success of my pressure cooker turkey casserole, I was sitting at work this afternoon and thinking that I'd like something similar, but with Thai flavors, ground chicken, different vegetables...once I put it all together, I realized it... Continue reading

We recently got a new blender, and while it was a bit more expensive than any blender I've ever owned before, it was absolutely worth it. This thing makes quick work of just about anything I've put in it so... Continue reading

I'm not sure if casserole is really the right word, but it's the best I've got. This was one of those "let's throw a bunch of stuff together and see what happens" kind of recipes, and it came out great.... Continue reading
