Last week, we were invited to a potluck dinner and asked to bring a hot vegetable dish. I browsed through my recipes here and didn't see anything that jumped out at me as easy and fast to make enough food... Continue reading

I've been looking for new recipes that looked interesting, and finally found this one that I was dying to try. I made corned beef in the pressure cooker recently and it came out amazingly tender and flavorful, so this seemed... Continue reading

After making sinigang a few times recently, I remembered that I've been wanting to try making chicken adobo in the pressure cooker. I've had a lot of success with my regular chicken adobo recipe, but I decided to look around... Continue reading

I recently bought a semi-ridiculous amount of tamarind paste online, and then realized that the only recipe I have that uses tamarind is pad thai. While I love that recipe, I also wanted to expand my horizons a bit. I... Continue reading

My friend Tom posted this recipe last week, and I could tell right away that it was something I had to try. Simple, delicious, and it makes enough for a few days. I wasn't disappointed at all, this is going... Continue reading

Hi everyone! Haven't posted in a while, so here's something you don't have to have a pressure cooker or a smoker to make. I ran across this recipe while looking for a new quinoa recipe. It's relatively quick and easy... Continue reading

I didn't take any pictures this morning, but it was a different enough recipe that I figured I'd throw it on here for future reference. Green Smoothie Ingredients: 2 cups water 2 cups kale, loosely packed ½ avocado 1½ carrots... Continue reading

I went for a nice little (6.2 mile) run this morning, and decided to make a recovery smoothie when I got back. Delicious and full of good stuff for recovering. Enjoy! Recovery Smoothie Ingredients: 6 ounces vanilla yogurt ¼ cup... Continue reading

Pressure cooker isn't necessary, it's just more efficient. In a regular pot, cook it the same way, add everything, bring to a boil, then cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes. Uncover, fluff with a fork, and serve.
Another day, another smoothie. Added a couple more healthy spices in to this one and used avocado instead of banana, along with some other changes. I'll use more cinnamon next time. Tuesday Smoothie Ingredients: 2 cups orange juice 2 cups... Continue reading

Inspired by the success of my pressure cooker turkey casserole, I was sitting at work this afternoon and thinking that I'd like something similar, but with Thai flavors, ground chicken, different vegetables...once I put it all together, I realized it... Continue reading

We recently got a new blender, and while it was a bit more expensive than any blender I've ever owned before, it was absolutely worth it. This thing makes quick work of just about anything I've put in it so... Continue reading

I'm not sure if casserole is really the right word, but it's the best I've got. This was one of those "let's throw a bunch of stuff together and see what happens" kind of recipes, and it came out great.... Continue reading

When I first saw this recipe, what caught my eye was how easy it would be to modify it for just about any flavor combination that sounded good. While I mainly stuck with the original Italian theme, it would be... Continue reading

It's been a while, so I decided to go searching for more interesting recipes to try out. This one comes from the Pressure Cooker Perfection cookbook, and other than one change which I'll mention in the notes, it's a definite... Continue reading

As my adventures in grilling/smoking continue, I finally took the plunge and bought a brisket. It was a little bit intimidating, because it's a big chunk of meat and if it doesn't go well, you've wasted a lot of money... Continue reading

I just realized it's been almost a month since I posted anything new. Part of that is that I've been cooking older recipes, and part is that I was too lazy to post a couple of new things that I... Continue reading

A few of my friends have posted this recipe in the last week or two, so I figured I'd give it a whirl. It sounded like a good blend of flavors, and a quick skim made it easy enough for... Continue reading

I haven't been using quinoa as much lately, because I've been playing so much with the smoker/grill, but I decided it was time to change that. This recipe looked pretty dang good for starters, so I only made very minor... Continue reading

I was looking around a few of my favorite cooking sites the last couple of days, and I found this recipe for pressure cooked tandoori bbq ribs. It sounded amazing. Pressure cook the ribs in a flavorful liquid to infuse... Continue reading

After making smoked turkey last weekend, I threw the bones and any other unused parts in the freezer until I was ready to make stock. Today was that day! After looking at several different recipes, I decided to borrow a... Continue reading

Just a quick post for this one. Two big lessons learned cooking this turkey. #1: using cherry wood in the smoker will darken the skin of a turkey rather a lot. I'll use apple next time. #2: butterflying, or spatchcocking,... Continue reading
