American Beauty is the only GD album I like. I had never heard anything by them that I liked until watching Freaks and Geeks where she put on the album and listened to it over and over. i fell in love with it bought the CD played it for myself 2 or 3 times and made the mistake of playing it in my mother's car and she took it from me! it's been 5 years now and I'm pretty sure she's not giving it back. I guess that's what I get for buying my mom's generation's music?
lately it occurs to me
Two out of three deadheads make me stabby, but since I first heard American Beauty when I was in my teens, I've considered myself a casual fan of the Grateful Dead. Put into nerd terms: I'd go to a Star Trek convention, but I wouldn't go in a spacesuit. Well, maybe in a spacesuit, but certainl...

I demanded for Portland. 76 people!
Boston CONFIRMED - July 2nd!
So it turns out that Eventful Demands really work! Thanks to everyone who demanded me in Boston (currently a staggering 209,) I was able to confidently contact a few bookstores and tell them that I was coming to town, with about 200 people who would come to their store, spend some money, and fre...

Ah how lucky I am to live in Oregon. I'm spoiled rotten.
I liek to use Mayo instead of butter it cooks well and gives the outside a little tang. also the george forman helps make the best grilled sandwiches. The cheese is always melted and the outside grilled well.
Is it actually just about a sandwich? Yeah, I guess it is.
From time to time, I really enjoy a nice grilled cheese sandwich. Melt a bit of sharp cheddar (Tillamook extra sharp is my favorite, if I can find it here in LA -- there's some embargo which usually prevents anything better than plain old sharp from making it to our stores) and dip it in a spo...

I wasn't crazy about the ending of The Dark Tower. My biggest theory is that he wrote the very end scene when he wrote The Gunslinger. Which would be pretty cool but at the same time I wanted more of an ending. I remember that sitting on the edge feeling and then "ARGH". It was frustrating but in a good way, I think.
if i could only make time stand still for a moment
Unless I crash into something that makes me think, "OMG I HAVE TO BLOG THIS RIGHT NOW KTHXBYELOLORZ," I find that it's much easier for me to write in the very early morning, or very late at night. Sitting down here in the middle of the day is a little weird, and I don't quite know where I'm goin...
