PSFK and data products in advertising
PSFK recently did and interview with us about our approach to work - and especially the Titanic video. PSFK has a broad audience but it got me thinking about who is interested in what we do. Why would advertisers be... Continue reading

Hey look, the Goodyear Blimp!
I've just seen a tweet from a US sportscaster on the Man Utd result "With the win, Manchester United is 90.4% favorite to win PL title, per SPI. Odds were 77.1 pct before weekend." Fair enough - but that isnt... Continue reading

I absolutely agree that they mainline information and ideas. The thing that is worrying me is that in order to acheive that visual status, ideas need to shed some soophistication. One could argue that they are more focussed and that we need brief, impactful ideas as much as we need long and laboured ones.
I'll also write soon on how they can combine. I'd like to see more combos - i think new forms of publishing will enable that.

The Waco Glider - WWII Magazine, July 2009
This month's article is about US 'Waco' Gliders and the risks they posed to those inside them. Lessons Learned I wanted to fully address the issue of signposting in my information graphics. It's a bit of a watershed. The current editor and I had a chat about these when I started and he felt...
First, I am glad that you and the family are well.
Second, this is totally amazing writing. It works as exciting reportage - and you are drawing in really great context and 'what next' ideas.
Truly top drawer stuff. Good luck there pal.
Journal: Flood
(1. Very sketchy initial notes from the last day or so, sent from a suburb of Brisbane as the Queensland floods hit. As I write, in the broader Queensland floods, there are 13 confirmed dead, and dozens more missing. With that in mind, we are incredibly fortunate here, and our experiences pale b...
