Thanks! Yes I'm really happy with how the turtle came out. So glad my friend had the idea!

This is such a fun group of updates! So happy for you. Our boys share a room and it's already fun for them. I'm excited for the future as Teddy gets bigger—I'm sure the shenanigans will be endless, and I think they will be so happy to have each other so close.

Looks so fun! Loved your photos all week. We are headed to Florida in a few weeks to visit my parents and I can't wait for the sun and the sand (and the extra sets of grandparents hands ;)

I'm a bit late on this post but I participated in Kids Clothes Week at the end of April. I totally forgot about it until the day it started, and then I thought, ok, well I can probably do this.... Continue reading

Wow, what a shitty way to spend a Monday morning! I'm so sorry. Your blog has been a favorite of mine for a long, long time now and I appreciate what you do in this space. I love the colors you chose for this quilt. I think you took a lot of heat for your dear ellerie posts as well, and I always meant to comment on them and say that they meant a lot to me. I was only a few months out of the newborn chaos myself and I related so much to your struggles. I guess I should have said it then but better late than never I guess. I hope your day gets better—go get a donut! :)

These tag blankies are great for small babies. Most babies love the smooth satin texture of the ribbon, and all the loops are great for little fingers and mouths. Like the pacifier clips, you can buy these almost anywhere, but... Continue reading

Pacifier clips are super useful if your baby uses a pacifier. Clip it to their shirt and they can almost always find their binky and put it back in their mouth if it falls out. For us they were indispensable... Continue reading

I am so thrilled to post that Theodore Elliott finally made his appearance—either way too late or right on time, depending on whether you ask me or him. :) He was born Friday, January 23 at 11:34 am. We are... Continue reading

Last year, I had two sets of resolutions, one more general, and one specifically about sewing. I'm not sure exactly why I did that, except that it made sense to me to set specific goals related to sewing. I love... Continue reading

My awesome friend Tony contacted me to make a quilt for his new niece who will be born in Feburary. He basically left everything up to me so I went all out with the pink and girly. I've wanted to... Continue reading

Last year I made the first bright star quilt and listed it for sale, and a mom bought it for her soon-to-be-born baby girl. A couple months ago she emailed me to say she is pregnant again with another girl,... Continue reading

I'm excited to share another commissioned quilt. I received a surprising number of custom orders in the last few months, which have been a lot of fun to work on. I still have two more to show you, but I've... Continue reading

One of my 2014 resolutions was to read 24 books. I did not succeed. I barely cleared half my goal, with 13. And half of those were all read in January! January!! I think it is no coincidence that January... Continue reading

2014 was a really good year for our family. Joey grew and changed so, so much and it was truly a joy to watch him. He is funny and incredibly talkative, and he's got this goofy, sweet personality that I... Continue reading

i love this idea. i've used the Day One app on my phone before to jot down quick notes about what joey is doing now, although i've fallen away from that lately. i like the idea of having a pretty book by your bed. i ditched project life for 2014 and just ordered a big photobook from blurb to cover the whole year. i can't wait to see it! it's a much easier (and cheaper!) method of documentation that fits my life a lot better right now. weirdly, i don't even miss scrapbooking at all.

These are so great! You're so lucky to have such great photographers to call on. I'm having trouble finding someone like that. We did family photos for the first time this year and the pictures were nice, but they weren't *special*. These are special.

Every night, I lay Joey in his crib and lay his quilt over him. (See it here!) Normally I hardly think about it, but for some reason last night it made me a little emotional. He falls asleep every night... Continue reading
