Hi Sande! I'm glad you've discovered my blog and channel. To answer your question, no I didn't apply the pouring medium on the back cover just because I ran out of time and then forgot about it. I plan on doing so as soon as things quiet down (and that's a funny statement LOL). Thanks so much for watching and commenting and have a wonderful weekend! CC

Vicky, welcome to this wonderful world of art journaling. It's so fun and liberating and addictive! Under papers are scraps of paper that you put under your journal to protect your desk. It also serves as a catchall for excess paints and medium and where i clean the ink off my stamps and such. These under papers are quite interesting sometimes and when I find one that I like, I try to incorporate it in my journal. Happy creating! CC

Thank you, Safia! - if you mix black paint to paste, you will need a lot of black paint since the paste is white. you'll end up with quite a few shades of grey before you get the true black. it just seems to be a waste. plus i like that sometimes the paint doesn't cover up the side of the embossed parts and it gives it more dimension - you can use a lot of medium to seal/gloss over a surface. it is just a question of preference. from my experience, self-leveling gel is great for super flat surfaces (without any texture) because you can pour over it and not touch it to let it run its course. if you touch it with your paint brush, you risk leaving marks. as for tar gel, it's thicker and great for using as a texturizer. again, these are only my opinions from having tried them out. it always comes down to preferences. but to answer your question, all 3 are suitable to do what i did on the cover.
