Hi Kimsim! I do believe all of them were designed for calligraphy because they all have a crisp sharp chisel tip. But they offer so much more.... ! Stay tuned!

Hi Poornima, Karlyn is a very talented and professionally trained artist that put together a 23 minute video on how she uses the elegant writer. I come from an angle of a "not professionally-trained" artist and the object of my class is about having fun while watercoloring. However, my class is a well-structured in-depth study of the marker, the different tips and colors and I take you through 3 full projects with step-by-step video instructions and downloadable sketches and swatches. So, to answer your question, only the product we are using is similar. Have a good day!

Hi Saskia! I rub them with Dorland's Wax Medium. It's a product carried by art supplies stores and some scrapbook stores that are into mixed media. I'm sure you can also find it online. Thank you for your sweet comment and have a lovely day!

your page came out so gorgeous, Trena. Great job on the tree and the clouds too! Just tweeted about it.

I have removed the masking tape once everything was dry. I had put it there because the spine is rounded and I didn't want any of the medium to adhere to it. Yes, I would miss the green grass too but honestly could do without our harsh winters here! Good luck with the house and don't be afraid to do your journal cover... remember you can always gesso over it if you don't like it :-)

Thank you, Yvonne! The embossing folder is one that coordinates with the Tattered Poinsettia die set. It is called "Poinsettia" and is also from the Tim Holtz Alterations/Sizzix line. It came out 2 years ago I believe and I'm sure it's still available. Hope that helps!

thank you, Barbara. I have not tried Faber-Castell' Glaze but i'm sure it would work on acrylic paints without smearing. Acrylic paint is permanent provided that it's dry. However, if you have added other media other than paint, I would check to see if they are permanent before adding a sealer. As for my drippage, I made sure to clean the spine as the medium was dripping. but it didn't take long for the medium to settle and stop dripping. I hope that helps. (I once was in Pheonix in July and remember perfectly what the weather was like!)
