Can we bring you a Timmies on Friday? A little coffee to help the jet lag?
My trip to Australia was amazeballs
I am home from Australia, and only mostly dead exhausted. Go me! I'm too tired for a proper post about the entire trip, but I'll offer a few memories and highlights: I did not meet a single unkind person the entire time I was in Australia. I realize that my sample size was quite small, but it wa...
So, knowing your next stop involves Calgary, Alberta,Canada, there are many a cool things here too! Long ago my husband and I offered a friendly Guiness should you ever come to town, the offer still stands!
Greetings from Australia!
Greetings from Australia! I've been here for something like four days (I say "something like" because the time travel thing that happens when you cross the International Date Line is still confusing me), and I just love it. Anne and I are in Melbourne, which I've found to be an absoulutely wonder...
Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap .... imagine the sound of fingernails drumming on my desk waiting for a magic link to appear...
binary bubbles!
According to Flickr, about 2500 people have peeked at the cover of Sunken Treasure since I mentioned it on Twitter yesterday. I just love it, and before I release the book at noon Pacific today, I wanted to give everyone who reads my blog a chance to see it (and hopefully get as excited about ...
Yeah, more! Can't wait to read it... Congrats

We will so be ordering the book, but while we wait... here is an opportunity to either groan in pain or laugh a lot. This link is to a little town just outside of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, called Vulcan. You have probably attended this "event" before, but as a summer vacation spot, after you have finished the con circuit, here is an idea.

justice is served, edo-style!
I understand that SciFi Channel has just finished serving up a special kind of Justice. From our first season on TNG, it's full of growing pains, but it remains one of the most unintentionally hilarious we ever did, and if ever there was an episode worthy of a Riff Track, well, I think this one ...
Hi Wil,
Maybe Montreal has inspired you to explore more of Canada? Back to my plee of a couple of days ago.... If you have the chance, could you put a little "Happy Birthday Peter" in your next entry, it would mean the world to him! Please don't think I'm pushy... just hoping to surprize!
Thanks,
Geek's Wife aka Robyn
In my head, the time didn't make a ripple
I owe an entry about my reading at The Magical Blend, but that's a story that's taking a little longer to write, so I can faithfully recreate it. Until then . . . Man, I just love this city, and all the people in it. Today, I stood in a church in Old Montreal and watched three opera singers ...
This has little to do with what is currently being discussed! Welcome to Canada! Here's the thing, my husband Peter is a huge fan of your site and books... try getting a copy of Just a Geek up here! I knoe you are away from your desk, and requests are frowned upon... I'm a fan of your site too... but the thing is, he would be dumb-founded and awestruck if you could stick a little "Happy Birthday Peter" in your next entry... It's on June 26th. Have a great time on the cruise, and head out to Calgary, Alberta should the opportunity arise.

Greetings from Montreal! I got here two hours late, but all things considered, this was a fantastic day of travel. Seriously, from the moment I left the house this morning, everything that could go wrong didn't, and whenever something was borderline . . . well, to use a poker metaphor: I won all...
