I spent the fast few months researching all about doves in the Bible. This was in preparation for my faithart class over at His Kingdom Come . Launching 9/5/15, you can learn all about the imagery of birds in God's Aviary. There are many verses about doves in the Bible, and I was intrigued by one verse I say, “I wish I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and settle in a safe... Continue reading

Having God's perspective on life, a perspective that is focused on His Grace and gifts and not on circumstances, then we experience both the peace of God and the God of peace. It is all about eucharisteo- the Greek word for thanksgiving and is used in the Bible to denote thanksgiving directed toward God in light of his benefits and blessings, as well as praise to God for the same. Find out more about eucharisteo... Continue reading

"4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice! 5 Let everyone see your gentleness. The Lord is near! 6 Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever... Honouring myself is what I think about myself how I talk about myself Owning the gifts God has given me knowing my true worth "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Adore HIM Creations and His Kingdom Come are... Continue reading

Last Sunday my friend Shameka and I spent time just playing and creating. After catching up on our lives, we decided to gelli print. I just love gelli printing. So freeing- creative- fun! Spending time with friends, with no agenda, no time frame, and lots of supplies is relaxing. It helps me to calm my heart, allow my creativity to lead and to go closer to God. We used 3 main colors, with black and... Continue reading

Just loving this months theme of Honour. Bernice and Mary ( HKC Foundation team members) put together a fantastic study and it is so good. Hope you are enjoying it! This week I spent a lot of time in prayer and meditation with God. Sure needed that grounding. Satan was really attacking my self-esteem big time and pushing me down that rabbit hole of I don't fit in, I am not accepted for me, etc.... Continue reading

What a great study this month about Honour at His Kingdom Come. A culture of honour in the kingdom of God is different than the worlds view of honour. In America we honour celebrities, singers and lots of people who havent' really done anything to honour the King of Kings. God is the one we should honour in our everyday, walk around, waking, sleeping, working life. God is worthy of my honour because he is... Continue reading

Final week in the family series at His Kingdom Come on family. I really liked the devotions that Staci wrote for our community. This final week was a great summary on the topic of family- God's family. Abba- an aramaic word which corresponds to our "daddy" in English. Can be difficult to think of God as my daddy or father, when my earthly father wasn't kind, patient, loving, graceful or protective. Slowly I am learning... Continue reading

Father- difficult word to hear for some people and I am one of those people. The person who had a negative experience with my earthly father, which clouded my perception, trust and security with God the Father. I have been born again sine 1992, and am have spent that time with God to re-frame the word and idea of Father. My idea of father was based on my childhood- father meant suspicious, scared, anxious, fearful... Continue reading

The trinity is the basis of my faith. Devotions this week helped me refocus on the reason for my faith and who God is and who I am. Family is God's plan for us and the trinity explains His word and how it governs our lives. I am trying to keep a monthly technique theme going and how perfect that this month is my white- or tone on tone technique. I find that I really... Continue reading

New month, new topic family. We are so blessed with a new devotion writer at His Kingdom Come-Take Me Deeper for the month of June. Staci Lys Dunn Silva, our Poetry/Writing Ambassador wrote the family devotions and she is a great artist and writer! Peace- everyone is the world wants it and few know the source or how to get it. It is not just an absence of war or strife, it actually is a wholeness, prosperity, health, welfare, safety, harmonious relationships, security, completeness, fullness, rest and soundness. All of that is summed up in the Hebrew word shalom. Continuing with the collage technique, I used lots of gelli prints as my background, and then upon looking at it,... Continue reading

I was so reminded reading the devotions this week about "abiding". Abide was my word of the year a few years ago, and I was able to really change my daily routine and abide with Him during that time. Like all of us, life changes how we live each day and before you know it the abiding time is not scheduled and not done. Mary (author of HKC devotions) spoke about how "running on empty... Spending a month focusing on self care has been an interesting journey. I have spent a lot of time in self-examination, and answering the question do I really take care of myself? Do I see myself as God's temple, do I cherish that temple, do I offer it as worship to Him? In the past year I have experienced living by myself for the first time in my life! I am 63 and have never... Continue reading

Psalm 63:1-5 O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. 2 I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. 3 Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! 4 I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up...
