No this logic is merely saying that the Sox won yesterday thanks to a 9th inning 2-out rally that included a strong effort on their part, failure by the opponent and a bad call or two by the ump that went their way. All of that is not a gift. But I hope the Angels keep thinking that's what did it, as per Hunter's comments. Why do I hate the Angels and Rays more than the Yanks?

Then are we debating what caused the tying run?: The walk (unfair as it may have been) or the simultaneous presence of runners on 3rd, 2nd and 1st? Surely it was a multi-man effort.

"gifted the Red Sox a win" I didn't see the inning, so correct me if I missed something, but what I don't get is how the 2-out walk and two infield singles were also the ump's fault. A contending team's closer has no business loading the bases down by a run in the 9th.

Did they conquer a dynasty?

It was the Globe rather than Papi who used the word scared, BTW.

or maybe it would have been past Cora and Pedey was aiming to stop the runner at 3rd - talking to myself about trivial stuff ... what is it, Friday around here?

ya just watching the replay on my iPhone - Pedroia ranged way into SS territory and boxed Cora out - love Ped but he's still young and eager I guess

On that run-scoring play, anyone think Cora might have had a play at 2nd if Pedroia went to the bag?

But ya, I'm definitely reading into it! I guess I wanted a better reason to hate them than HD's well-put faux-scrappiness or the simple fact that they are ahead of us in the standings ... dang, I miss the devil we knew.

Oh I get that, but you know if the Rays win anything significant, some fanatic from red state radio will say they finally won because they dumped the devil.

Yeah HD I really really hate them too. Mostly I hate the fact that the Devil was taken out. I'm not a fan of the Devil ... just an enemy of the Christian Right. What does religion have to do with this? Nothing but politics.

Sure would be nice to take advantage after the Rays' stunning loss. Let's buck up - it's Ranger pitching.
