Gaahh! No haircut since October? Poor girl -- drive yourself to your salon first thing in the morning. A new haircut usually makes me feel good for a day or two at least! I get mine cut every 6 weeks!

I also think you need to attach a postscript to the open letter to SJP addressing her husband. Or rather, you should address her husband's hair. WTF is up with it? It looks like a bad comb-over hairpiece! But I think it is his real hair? But he is making it LOOK fake. For God's sake Ferris, fluff it up a bit or borrow some of SJP's people!

I only know who Richard Jenkins is because he looks EXACTLY like a dermatologist I rotated with in PA school. (Anyone in Shreveport know Dr. Kent???)

Robert Downey, Jr. is da bomb! I heart him. Ohhhh...I heart Matthew Broderick too! I used to have a framed Teen Beat photo of him when I was a young, young lass. I was confident I would marry him! So, I haven't seen any trainwreck dresses yet.... The night is young.

Not only did I rush out to download the Leslie Hall song, but I am mesmerized by that video! Why does she have gold octopi on her shoulders?

Kerry, I can't believe Will hasn't jumped on this post! We think alike when it comes to politics, so I'll try to channel him: Significance of the unicorn? Hmmm...it is a mythical creature humans created...it isn't real but is delightful to imagine. As majestic and awe-inspiring as it may appear in our minds, it is nothing but fantasy. It's a good metaphor, I think. It also reminds me of that scene in Kevin Smith's Chasing Amy. (Did you see it?) Props if you know what I am talking about.

At ages 12-18 (basically all the years Catherine posted on FB for the world to see), I HATED myself. Seriously. It took years of therapy and medication and a steady boyfriend to straighten me out -- and I still have issues. I hated my hair, I hated my make-up, I hated that my parents didn't buy me every brand name all the other girls had, I hated that I was shy and not popular, I hated that I had a horrible complexion, I hated my weight, I hated that I was not the smartest, I hated that I was smart...you get the picture. So you were and are not alone! I think I read somewhere recently that no one cares what YOU weigh. Everyone is so focused on themselves! It's still a hard thing for me and I too have resolved to just be healthy and happy and f*ck everyone else and those charts! Staring at those pics on FB really brings back a rush of unpleasant memories -- I had a few years in HS that I don't like to think about!!! But you were are are a gorgeous woman! So just focus on getting healthy and don't worry about numbers. They aren't good for us.

P.S. I HATE DORA AND DIEGO. I think next time I go to target practice with my pistol, I'm making a Dora silhouette to shoot.

OMG...I nearly wet my pants reading your post because I know EXACTLY what you are talking about (and I only have ONE child.) I too have stress acne, have gained 10 pounds and gone up a size, and am developing a gastric ulcer, I'm sure. It's not just the child being at home -- it is all the programs, parties, hosting of parties, company from out of town, and obligations to family that come out of the woodwork during the holidays all combined that get me in such a tizzy. My normal routine is shot and the only thing that can calm me down is a box of cookies. I'm all for the one-week holiday. Hey, can't it be combined to one day? Didn't the ancients move Christmas to Dec 25th to coincide with the pagan celebration of the winter solstice? Well, since not many people celebrate the solstice anymore, let's move Christmas AND New Years to THE SAME DAY. What better way to celebrate the birth of Christ than also celebrating a New Year and clean slate, if you will? Maybe we could just do a Wed-Thur-Fri holiday or Mon-Tue-Wed, depending on which day the first was on that particular year. Sound good? I've also had to look up Easter too. (Which was also set to coincide with a pagan celebration). Easter is set for the Sunday following the first full moon on or after March 21st. There is a complicated explanation I can never remember -- it has to do with a different calendar system. I'm sure you really knew that being a trivia maven and all, but I had to remind myself too. Ok, I hope you enjoy the first week back to normalcy! Pass the tequila!
