There was a change in games around mid-late 80s where they allowed the 'insert quarter to continue.' Before that time you could put your quarter on the glass to signal you had 'next game.' Once 'insert coin to continue' happened, people would hog a game until they ran out of change. Or send their friends to get more change. Either way, totally cheesy! The last time I put a quarter on the glass of an arcade game (Galaga) the kid playing used it, I think he thought I was giving him a present.

Wil, this brought a tear to my eye. Was from laughter or joy? You'll never!

You should have just ended on the 'thats what she said' joke. Since you didn't, you should make the first letter of the last names all spell something. I listen every time thinking you'll do that.

Wil - you are accessing it wrong. Its not /usr/wil/creative, but /dev/wil/creative. Try piping some /dev/random into it and see what comes out. I forgot all about the LOD/MOD thing, wow, what a flashback.

Wil, I spent way too much time in arcades as a kid. Usually Ikari Warriors with my friend Chris, but Tempest was also a big favorite. Why don't you get the kids together and have a man-building-things weekend and set up a MAME cabinet? They can be done cheaply to extravagant depending on what you like. I've built two in the past, one lives in a coworkers basement in VA now. One of these days I'd love to build a cocktail cabinet.

Thanks for bringing back a lot of memories of playing D&D in JHS. I can picture us now sitting around tables. Unfortunately for many of the people I only remember first names; Dave, Jen, Dan... But still, great times. I have never gotten back into gaming, mostly because I fear it wont be 'as fun' as it was when I was a kid.

I feel that way all the time when reading Gizmodo or Geeks Are Sexy. "I remember when..." Kids today don't know how easy they have it, but it makes me wonder what they will be looking at in 20 years when they say "Kidd today don't know how easy they have it." And I don't think you kept Cindy Crawford in your room when you were 15. As for the palm of your hand...Oh crap, I bet that just triggered the company network filters. Here comes the IT guy. Oh wait, I am the IT guy. And I'm not even breathing hard!

"Because that isn't cool enough.." Are they going to shower you with cupcakes and chant your name while you parade under ticker tape? Jeez... way to rub it in Wil. Just don't let ticker tape get into your cupcake frosting.

Which one? Asia had more singers then Van Halen. (NOW the 'post' button works, damn noscript!)

Too funny. Looks like everyone was having fun! Makes me actually want to play the game now. Only there are no screaming fans in my living room.
