Lily, this looks wonderful. I recently bought a jar of that lovely Dulce de leche from Argentina. I will have to make some of this when that runs out :)

Lily, I wish I could hug you from here! You put so much thought into those invitations and each is identified as the person it was addressed to. Numbering the response cards was a brilliant idea! I wish you and Hector much happiness.

Although I have used the term foodie (for lack of a better term to use at the time the word comes out of my mouth) I really don't like the word. Its right up there with the whole trekkie/trekker thing. I have been accused of being a food geek/snob and I guess I don't mind that because its probably true. The term I would probably prefer would be Home Gourmande , and like Clotilde, I don't really mind Home Cook either because that is what I do and I do not feel that it is demeaning in any way.

Holly, I love gazpacho! Such a refreshing and vibrant dish especially when its as hot as it has been for us here. I love the presentation of it as a cocktail with shrimp and also with scallops. I tend to like things towards the spicy side so hot sauce or cherry peppers would be a must for me.

@sarah m You could try a gentle tea smoke or steam with some Lapsang Souchong tea. It has a very smoky flavor and I have used it to smoke both in oven and stovetop successfully.

Awesome! Already planned on curing the bacon and have been contemplating doing the Bread Bakers Apprentice challenge. With garden showing signs of life I will be able to accomplish both challenges!

Definitely getting pork belly today. It has been too long since I made pancetta and that just sounds way too good right now.
