Hell yes! That would be awesome! Maybe a special "Season One in Review" episode at the end of the Vol. 2 Futurecasts...

Resist the temptation, Wil! Repeat after me: "He beats his fists against the posts, but still insists he sees the ghosts. HE BEATS HIS FISTS AGAINST THE POSTS, BUT STILL INSISTS HE SEES THE GHOSTS!!!

Also, just because I've never managed it before: first.

On one hand, that's a beautiful little piece, but on the other, I feel compelled to warn you that if your boat goes down into a storm drain where a mysterious voice waits for you: just let it go. Sorry, couldn't resist the reference. Seriously, though, it's always nice when you let us join you for these mometary bits of memories, or to walk along with you as your mind wanders.

Oh, and I also vote in support of the motion for a Dancing Barefoot audiobook!

Well, that sucks, but thanks for the kind thoughts, Wil!

Has there ever been a physical edition of the "Just a Geek" audiobook, and if so, how would I go about getting a copy? My birthday is coming up at the end of the month and I'd like to ask for the audiobook, but since my laptop is currently in a state requiring data recovery and this laptop I'm using is neither mine nor is it in good enough shape to allow me to create a CD backup of the download, the format offered currently on Lulu doesn't work for me. Any help in this matter would be appreciated, and (dare I say?) awesome.

Wil, this has little to do with anything, but if you want a new t-shirt, enter this contest (http://www.toplessrobot.com/2009/11/tr_contest_the_moment_you_knew_you_were_a_nerd.php)! I don't run the blog or anything, I'm just a reader of it and a fan of yours (and a previous shirt winner over there), and feel that with your memories and writing prowess, you should easily be able to win this one (especially if you reveal your identity)!

More Radio Free Burrito in the downtime between MotFCasts!

Wil, just because you're not going out, that's no excuse for not dressing up for Hallowe'en! Trick or Treaters have more fun when the people passing out candy are in costume, too! And you're only as old as you choose to feel you are! To me, you always seem like you're a little kid at heart, and that's a good thing in a LOT of ways! Happy Hallowe'en, dude! 'z'

I don't have the money for either the audiobook or hard copy, seeing as I'm a poor college student, but once I get a job, I'm definitely gonna buy one of the two in a show of support!

Damn it! Someone pointed out the Hitchhiker's Guide reference before I even listened to this! Oh well... You really should include a zip-bundle of all 13 of these when/if you release an audio book edition of MotF, vol. 1. Also, drunk Wesley voice FTW!!!

If I had any money to spare I would definitely pledge some! I'm part of a family of animal lovers, and all but one of our many pets over the years have been rescued (Humane Society or otherwise), and I love the work that they do to help! Also, I'm really sorry for your loss... I know how it is to lose a furry member of the family to cancer since a couple years back I had to have my childhood dog Kayla (the sweetest dog you'd probably ever meet) put to sleep to end her suffering from an inoperable cancer that was growing throughout her torso and wreaking havoc on her. I'd already gotten the impression that you were an all-around great guy, Wil, but you've proven that to be an understatement. God bless you, dude, and God bless those of you who were able to give.

You are adorable in that vid, dude! And what do you mean when you say that you're "not worthy of something this awesome"?! You're WIL freakin' WHEATON, Secretery of Geek Affairs and all-around pretty great guy!

Crap. Forgot an easy one: WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton is gonna shop SkyMall.

WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton is not going to kill us... yet. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton doesn't blame L.A. (although, he probably should). WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton doesn't think he likes you better. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton is a Mason now. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton recounts the secret exploits of dance-crazed radio personalities. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton likes big butts, and cannot lie about it. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton can boil the true legacy of every U.S. President (except Grover Cleveland) down to one line. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton just bought a table for $60. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton wonders if you really need that much honey. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton imagines a better life for Laika than dying scared and alone in space. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton remembers the Town Crotch. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton has a monkey butler named Brian Dennehy. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton breaks your heart in a cappella. WHEREAS Jonathan Coulton is having a party, and invites everyone to sleep over (even Mark Manelli). Just thought I'd add a number of others off the top of my head.

Actually, most of them ARE true geeks, there are just a few like Shaq, MC Hammer, and Ashton Kucher who just seem to be riding the Twitter pop-culture wave.

I would've liked to have seen more geeks famous to the general public like: -Stephen Colbert -Neil Patrick Harris -Milo Ventimiglia -Robin Williams -Seth Green -Vin Diesel -Nathan Fillion -Kevin Smith -Trent Reznor I would also like to have seen more of the geek-known celebs like: -Bruce Campbell -Neil Gaiman -Chris Hardwick -Weird Al -Gabe and Tycho -James Urbaniak -Doc Hammer -Masi Oka -David Tenant And the point promoting literacy was completely lost. A series of shorter PSAs with a part actually SHOWING that they were in support of literacy would've worked better. Take everyone in that vid and everyone I mentioned and mix and match all the little clips and you'd easily have 6 or 7 good 60 second PSAs. They also should've countered the "I don't play DnD or Magic: the Gathering" with a couple guys like Vin Diesel saying that they DO and that they ARE fun. Seriously. Also, how the hell does a nickname like "The Big Galactus" make any sense? Galactus is fucking HUGE! Obviously whomever coined that one couldn't tell Mr. Fantastic from Fantastic Sams!

JUST owning a Wii DOESN'T make you a gamer! Lots of people own Wiis just for Wii Fit and/or party games like Wii Sports. I'd approximate that 35% of Wii owners don't use their systems 90% of the time. Being a gamer means more than just having ONE game system.

The parts with you guys from TNG were hilarious, and the God-as-Flash Gordon joke was worth a laugh, but the rest... The rest was really pretty shitty.
