Beasley's been offered to the Suns for Amare a few times now by Riley, they're not interested. Posted by: Karl Malone | January 28, 2010 at 03:52 AM What is your source for this information? First time the rest of us have heard this.
Dude. No one besides myself, King Riley, and hotleo have any desire to trade Wade to the Knicks. Posted by: Chris | January 28, 2010 at 12:31 AM even if we wind up with a much better team?
ok, I'll try again, maybe you guys are through squabbling and can address this now? DISCUSS AMONG YOURSELVES: Wade to the Knicks! this works on trade machine: to Knicks: Wade, Chalmers, Cook, J.Jones to Heat: Lee, Gallinari, Hill, Nate, Douglas, Mobley, Knicks lottery draft pick. i like it. great for the league to have Wade at msg. great young core from ny to us. Beas becomes the superstar in 2 years. another allstar can come from FA. your thoughts?

"On paper you guys win that deal but LeBron would almost be 100% guaranteed to join the Knicks if that were to happen. He'd get to play next to another superstar, play in the biggest market in the world, and unlike in Miami it would not be Wade's city." Lebron would only do it if he doesn't make the finals this year, or Cavs make a good showing in it. But let him go to Knicks, that would be even better for the league. One thing for sure: he's not coming here. so what's the problem?
clarification: Lottery draft pick.

I will not watch another Heat game until the playoffs unless one of these happens: 1)they make a significant trade 2)Sporon is replaced, or elevates Beasley, Arroyo and Magloire over Haslem, Chalmers, and Joel. everybody is belaboring the same obvious points over and over again. everybody is right. too frustrating, seeya.
POLL: would you prefer Beasley playing proper 32-36 mins at PF and Chalmers... or no JO and Mayo/Lopez/Jordan? My vote is the latter.
"There was no way to trade down and get two lottery picks. Mayo went #3. Lopez went #10. Different teams held all 9 of the picks before Lopez." It was more than just trading down, it involved moving one or more of our players. It was considered a bit difficult but not improbable, and was discussed a lot at the time.
Much as I like Beas, at draft time I recall it wasn't a question of Riley taking Mayo instead, but of trading down in a way that could land him Mayo AND Lopez or Love. (it was said he was higher on Love so there's Pat's bad judgment in later years again) But I felt at the time that Mayo AND Lopez was the way to go. I still think so, especially since Chalmers would probably not have been selected, we'd likely have drafted DeAndre Jordan. Wish now we had Mayo, Lopez, Jordan instead of Beasley/Chalmers.
everyone is repeating the same things over and over for the past several weeks. what good does it do? no new revelations at all. nothing is getting through to Riley or Spo. They are doing what they are doing because they want Wade to re-up, that's all. they don't care about this season except to be 5-7 seed.
Look at it this way: Wade is really the decision-maker here by authority of Riley. That doesn't mean Spo is blameless--his decisions are stinko even in the context of what he has to do to please Wade. Wade is not micromanaging the coaching, he's just saying how the offense runs through him, and who he wants to see get prime-time, and who not. There are still coaching decisions beyond that, which display his incompetence. But Riley doesn't really care as far as this year, as long as the team stays 5-7 seed, and Wade likes Spo.
If Eddie jones and Caron Butler was like that with Wade his first 2 year he would never had us win his first playoff series against a good Hornets team. and maybe never became the type of player that he is today Posted by: paul | January 26, 2010 at 07:17 PM That's true Paul..but when someone becomes Emporer they don't care about that..they want what they want, and Riley has seemingly decided Wade will get whatever he wants..this year--so he will want to sign with us next year (not that there's any guarantee-he could still leave if and when any trades or FA signings don't please him)
PERSPECTIVE FROM A 70yr old HEAT (Knicks 1951-1989) FAN: when something doesn't make sense, continues not to make sense, maybe it's not stupidity but a plan we're not seeing. Maybe everything is happening just to keep Wade happy, and for no other reason. Riley wants Wade to stay at all costs, and he (and Wade) don't see the team going too far in the playoffs no matter how well they are coached or what pieces can be added now. So just let Wade enjoy his status, being the total focus of the endgame for his glory-seeking, and above all let him play with a coach that he enjoys playing under and that caters to him, and the guys he likes to play with best: Haslem, QRich, Skip (why else get Skip even if some think he's a slight upgrade to Arroyo) If we take this to its logical conclusion, we may guess that maybe Wade prefers Joel to Cat, prefers Mario as backup to Arroyo, isn't that thrilled playing with Beasley and hasn't all that much faith in Dorell even tho he's a bud. So instead of us tearing our hair out as regards the SPORON, let's just relax and accept the fact it's all for Wade, and just enjoy his superlative preformances, and the growth of the Beaser, and not worry about the rest until next year. It beez what it beez!
this is retarded, this makes no sense, this has got to be Riley getting senile. you let Wade and spo and ud dictate how this team is to go? Wade and AI will be the next coming of Frazier/Monroe- unstoppable. it's 3 years of title runs with that pairing. then just get Boozer by packaging Haslem, any of our 4 redundant sf's, (beas will be great sf) and a draft pick. then we are competitive this year, and can build for a dynasty next year. it's a no-brainer, just what the fudge is the problem with our brass? they have no brass, is what it is.
the moves for this year should be 2 to give us a competitive team this year and build for the future as well: get AI, to make the next Frazier/Monroe style backcourt that will be unstoppable. then get Boozer, to get him package Haslem and any of our 4 sf's(all redundant cuz Beas will be great at sf)and maybe a pick. I don't understand why Riley is not getting this done. no risk in $ for 2010 if they drop AI, but I think he will be the key to our title runs for next 3 years. Boozer huge bargain and huge upgrade.

AI an Wade will be the best backcourt pair in the nba. If Beasley is given a true chance at SF, he will excel. JO will be better than last year. so will Rio and Cook. so will Dorell. trade Haslem and one of our 4 sf's to Jazz now for Boozer, get AI, and we have a shot to go all the way this year.
HEY NUDNICKS!!!!! when the knicks had clyde frazier and then they got pearl monroe, everybody said the same things they are saying now about how wade and iverson couldn't work, but it became one of the greatest backcourt teams ever. CARE TO ANSWER THAT PUNKS?
a decent pg and center, plus Wade-Beasley-Bosh= finals?. but easier said than done. how about we make a deal for Rubio instead of Bosh. he won't go to Minny but he'll play here ah reckon, does anybody think Pat is talking to McHale about it? then we can have Rubio-Wade-Beasley-Boozer + decent center = dynasty . perhaps we can get that done this year? Make all our picks and every player except Wade/Beas tradeable. is it doable?

if i could afford to buy out Arison, i would demote Spo back to asst coach, and hire Mike Fratello as coach, who believes in Beasley as a 3. then i would sign AI and let him start. They said Frazier and Monroe wouldn't have enough balls, but that became perhaps the greatest backcourt in nba history. Wade is better than either of them were, and AI in his prime was nearly equal. Even now he and Wade would not be that far behind Clyde and Pearl. My major priority would be to go after Ricky Rubio for this season or next.
pardon the typos and uneven lines
We don't need Josh Howard or any other 3's. Beasley will be an all-star 3 this season. Yes, some speedy 3's will blow by him. No matter, they can not match how he will score and rebound against him, and he can be moved to the 4 against certain matchups. So we have too many SF's already with Q, DW, JJ, YD. At least one of them, perhaps 2 can be trade pieces now to get us the pg we so desperately need. Wade makes a fine pg but he won't play it except in crunch time, and that also means he's a target for defense and rendered much less effective with the ball in his hands and everyone knowing he will take the shot or only pass off if stymied. So we need a real point guard, and shooting ability from the perimeter is a plus, not a necessity. AI would be perfect, as Rio does not appear to be anything but an excellent backup. If not AI, then let's make a trade for pg. With Beas at 3, we can stick with UD for another year. but we need a backup, so maybe one of our sf overstock for a backup to UD, or maybe Joel can fill in adequately as backup to UD? he's semi-retarded offensively but he will be better defensively, plus blocks, and will outrebound UD. If JO is even slightly improves, the we're ok with just Magloire backing him.
Beasley will DESTROY opposing 3's, in every way but defensively. He will be SO dominant it will not matter that his defense is flawed. He could NEVER be that dominant at PF. he will get into less foul trouble at SF. All of you who say he is not a sf, he belongs at pf are MISTAKEN. He has all the instincts of a sf, few of a PF. When he played so well in Haslem's absence, he did it with the moves of a SF. He did not post-up, he did not back his man in, he did not pound for rebounds. He shot facing the basket, he flew in for rebounds, he drove to basket from outer circle. OBSERVE!!!!!
