Great job! I love how the pillow fabric has sentimental value.
$30 Couch Transformation
I recently decided that I hated my couch. No really, I hated it. The main reason for my distaste was simple: it was uncomfortable. What is the point of a sofa you don't want to sit on? We bought the couch when we bought our house (almost five years ago) and it fit the original requirements: ...

Helloooo...? Oh boy... life can get a bit crazy, ay? With the holidays, selling our home and trying to pack, you can imgaine how it can be with kids. *sigh* But I do miss you. I miss being engaged in... Continue reading

Toy Recommendations for 1-2 Year Olds
This season is (and should be) a prime time to add to your little one's toy collection. I did a lot of research (and some trial and error...too bad there's no such thing as a toy library) to find great, affordable toys for Jude. So I thought it might be helpful to share some of his favorites...
The raglans are awesome! I'm very much liking the buddha one.
Cozy Clothes
Sometimes you need cozy clothes, especially if you're a toddler. You know, the outfits that are just shy of pj's: acceptable for a trip to the grocery store or park, but maybe not for entertaining the queen. I made Jude two more recycled raglans with matching fleece pants. The shirts whe...

GREAT tips, Carla! I'm loving the mini lounger... maybe just one! ;)
Happy December 1st
December has begun, and the holiday season is officially upon us. In honor of this festive, joyous, and crazy time, I put together a little list that has helped keep me (fairly) sane and merry. 1. Let go. Embrace traditions that make life easier and skip stuff you don't enjoy. I grew up ...
Num-num-num!!! This looks yummy and would be perfect for breakfast!
Frittata
I thought I'd share my favorite I-haven't-been-to-the-store-in-ages recipe. When the cupboard is fairly bare, and the fridge reveals only assorted bits and a handful of eggs, I know what we'll be having for dinner: frittata. It's the perfect way to use up random veg (even leftover pasta or pot...

HA! You too?! I have a waterproof tablet in my shower to jot down any ideas that pop in my head. I'll have several crafts going on at the same time. If I get tired of one, I'll jump to another and then the next. At first I get overwhelmed cause of the chaos going at once, but then I tend to finish them all at once and that gets me all excited. The other thing is I just don't sleep... what's THAT?! It's the wee hours when everything is still and the only noise I hear is my thoughts. I pay for it in the morning, but that's what coffee is for!
Happy craftin'!!!
Craft Crazy
Source: uppercasemagazine.tumblr.com via Carla on Pinterest You know you've got a lot on your mind when you're standing in the shower, and you have no idea whether it is time for shampoo or conditioner. I'm fairly sure I washed my hair twice yesterday. My mind is racing with projects and to...
Check that out... you clever girl! I would've never thought of this.
DIY Booster Seat
I was cleaning out the garage, and I stumbled upon this: And having found the perfect excuse to stop cleaning, I turned it into this: Want to make one? Here's what you'll need: Large hat box (mine was free, but they're cheap at Michael's if you needed to buy one) 2" foam to cover the top...

Going to Grandma's Toddler Backpack
Jason and I snuck away for a much needed little vacation. A romantic, fancy, potty-learning-free vacation. Jude stayed with my parents, whom he loves and spends lots of time with. I knew that he would have a great time, but I also knew I would miss him really bad. I decided a special mama-...

Hipster Halloween
Hipster is the new hobo. You know when you didn't know what to be for halloween, so you put on a mix of clothes, painted on a little facial hair, and called it a hobo costume? I present you with the modern day hobo costume ... I'm so hip it hurts. Good thing I've got my Warby Parkers, so...

Pumpkin Picking
Just in case you thought Jude was the only poor child of a blogger-mama who didn't get to go to a pumpkin patch. Wishing you a very Happy Halloween!
