If they were smart they would configure the stadium so that the visitors bench was always in the sun, while our bench was always covered by the canopy shade. It would help give us a little more home field advantage.
Highlights: Dolphins GM, CEO talk to fans
The Dolphins put general manager Jeff Ireland and CEO Mike Dee on the phone with season ticket holders this evening. They talked for 30 minutes and for me the three most interesting things are covered below: Ireland was asked if he could share his draft plans for the upcoming NFL draft. He gave ...
Anyone that wants to let Mike Dee know how you feel about the new logo, his twitter is @MikeDeeFins lol.
Dolphins logo talk PLUS Salguero mock draft pick
It's logo talk this morning. As you may know, I confirmed Tuesday that the logo leaked via instagram on the Internet last week is no fake. It is the real deal. It is the Dolphins new logo . And my column in today's Miami Herald gives you some insight that I gathered relative to that logo being ...

Appreciate it man. I've been really quiet this last year because I've been writing a novel diligently and am close to releasing it. In between writing, I've been enjoying all the Phins blog debates lol. Anyhow, I'm a major Phins fan.

Ok kid, I take that back. Shined the flashlight on the picture. Its the ever slightest of grey. Looks white without close examination.
Youre right, Im wrong. I didn't know wtf I was talking about. OK kid? LOL...

Glad to see your big enough to admit when your wrong. Not many are capable of such a concept. Also I'm 44 =).

I'm hoping we take Cooper if we cant get Johnson at 12. Some think we shouldn't take Eifert at 12, however, if you really like a player, get him. We've been burned many times in the past trying to wait to take a player at a spot we thought he should go.
As for the logo, I think it sucks. I will just wait till they slash the prices on all the old gear and buy enough of it to last me for years. The new logo looks like it was made for a cruise line.
Also, the Dolphins never used a white face mask. It was light grey, google it before arguing.

Wow, sending Tebow to the Jets is like forcing the Pope to mow Satans lawn. lol.
Tim Tebow goes to the Jets ... plays Miami twice a year
I have a suggestion for the Miami Dolphins: Pass on Tim Tebow day this year. The former University of Florida star, the former Heisman Trophy winner, the man who led the Gators to national championships and the Denver Broncos to the playoffs, is now a New York Jet. He was traded today from Denve...
I dont care if we get him or not. RG3 and Flynn were my top 2 options anyway. Granted Manning healthy would be instant glory, but only a short term answer. If we do miss out on Manning, I believe Flynn will come here to be with Philbin. All is not lost. And we saved our draft picks.
Dolphins are still in Manning sweepstakes
This morning I did my usual round of texting/emailing/begging to my Dolphins and other NFL sources. And the question du jour (that means today) had to do with ESPN's constant reports that the Dolphins are down and nearly out of the Peyton Manning sweepstakes. I reported to you over the weekend t...
I do not want to see Manning get signed with the Phins. I would be willing to trade the whole draft for a shot at RG3, then fill the holes through free agency. At least in free agency you know what your getting. Otherwise, if they are not going after RG3, I hope they take Flynn and have a good draft. If they take Manning it could be real bad if we dont get anyone else and his nerves dont heal.
Dolphins win coin toss vs. Carolina
The Dolphins this morning won the coin toss against the Carolina Panthers and will have the eighth overall selection in the April draft. The Panthers, who shared a 6-10 record with Miami, will have the ninth overall selection. I would say this is great news in that it gives the Dolphins a better...
Unfortunately, reading comprehension is not a strong point for most people. I agree with Sherman. IF we ADD a couple of pieces here and there we WILL be close. To put it in lamen's term, We will be close IF we ADD a couple pieces here and there. That means were not close until we ADD the pieces. LOL
Mike Sherman: Dolphins not far from Super Bowl
Mike Sherman has a Super Bowl ring from his time with the 1997 Green Bay Packers when he was the team's tight ends and assistant offensive line coach. He wants another ring. And he thinks the Dolphins are close enough to help him get that ... No, seriously, Sherman sees the Dolphins that went 6-...
Alot of you are ragging on Sherman for saying we are a few pieces away from contending. But, hes right. Look at NE. They had ALOT of holes on defense and they nearly won the superbowl.

I prefer Flynn over Tannehill for the simple reason that he knows the system, has practiced it and actually got to run it against NE and Detroit. Even if those were end of the year games, they were still better than a preseason game.

Jets signed O'Connell, the scrub QB we cut. Guess they are going to learn from him as much about our offense this year as they can. Too bad our front office isn't smart enough to do the same.
Tony Sparano's words -- many subject to change
I suppose we all can change our minds. Women do it. Double-agent spies do it. Obviously, football coaches do it. Proof? On Aug. 24, when it seemed apparent fullback Lousaka Polite's role was diminished within Miami's new offensive scheme, I asked coach Tony Sparano how that disappering role woul...
Maybe when were on the goal line trying to score we can have the cheerleaders stand behind the endzone and flip him off. =D
Dolphins announce signing of RB Larry Johnson
The Dolphins have announced on their twitter feed they have signed running back Larry Johnson. So much for those tentative first-and-goal runs. Johnson, 31 years old, hasn't had a productive season since 2008 when he gained 874 yards. That was also the same year the stuff hit the fan for him. He...
Honestly I think Henne's struggles had alot to do with Dan Hennings vanilla offense and his constant harping on Henne to not make a mistake. He should have been allowing him to take more shots down field instead of constantly checking down. We will see how he does this year.
Monday afternoon camp report (free!)
The Dolphins did not draft anyone in today's NFL supplemental draft. Terrelle Pryor went to the Oakland Raiders, who overspent invested a third-round pick on the former Ohio State quarterback. No other player was drafted during this draft. All of the remaining players become free agents. Meanwhi...
Still think we shoulda gone after Zack Miller. We are hurting at TE.

We should take up a collection to buy Armando a cooler of ice cold beers for suffering out this heat to bring us this play by play from daily practices. =D
New OLineman, Reggie's take on O, practice live blog
The Dolphins have announced the signing of free agent Ray Willis, who comes by way of the Seattle Seahawks. Willis, a 6-6 and 304 pounds offensive tackle, started 10 games for the Seahawks last season and 10 the year before. The club also made clear to recently signed offensive lineman Micah Kia...
I think they should re sign Ricky and use the carrot on a stick method with him, only sub out the carrot with a bud. =D

wanying, its my opinion that they probably didnt want to pay him that much due to his personality problems so they let him slip away. I think our recievers will be fine, especially if Gates can get involved with his speed. Tight end I agree. I keep checking all the sites hoping to see a headline about the Phins pursuing Zack Miller, but they didnt that we are aware of. He would have helped alot.

I see people are still crying the blues over who we didnt bring in. Thing is, some of the players that didnt come in to try out may not have wanted to. VY said he was aiming for the the Eagles before he was even released. Maybe we did call him. The front office doesnt report every single call made or what was said. But alot of fans just jump on them claiming they suck for not bringing people in they think they should have. We will see how Henne does with Daboll, hopefully he wont harp on him about making too many mistakes and keeping him handcuffed like Henning did. Teach him to take more chances and not check down everytime.

Keep in mind that Henne was handcuffed and brow beaten by Dan Henning since hes been in the NFL. Hopefully Daboll will teach him to loosen up and improvise. Still kinda hope we get Orton though.
Live practice blog and Orton may still hear Miami's who
First things first: Please check out my column from the pages of the Miami Herald this morning. It discusses how ugly the Dolphins looked as a football team at their first training camp practice Friday and why. It also tells you why there is good news on the way. It also tells you that there sti...
From what that video showed, he sure hits alot better than gebril did. I think they should sign Sharper for a year to tutor him. Sharper would also help school Vontae and Smith as well.
A focus on the still lingering free safety question
There are some positions on the Dolphins that beg attention. The areas I'm talking about are unsettled, need adjusting or simply need more talent. One of the most interesting of those has been, and remains, the free safety position. Free safety is a position that begs our attention because there...
I hope Taylor will agree to play for a little less and commit to the off season program. If he focused we would have a nice pass rush.
Cutler would be nice, but I dont think we need him. It would probably cost, at least, a first round pick. We dont need to waste that pick for a QB.I hope Sparano will give Henne a shot in preseason to win the job. Then keep the pick and use it on Nicks if possible.
As for the rest, pass on them all and draft a cb and other needed positions.
What about (fill in name here) for Dolphins?
The last couple of days have served to fill up my Outlook box in Microsoft because many readers want to know what the chances are of Miami signing this veteran or that veteran, this aging receiver here, or that overpriced cornerback there, or possibly even that complaining quarterback over yonde...
I hate the long wait till next season as well. Im constantly looking for new info. If the O-line is good to go, then all we would need is a #1 reciever to have a pretty good offense. I hope Henne gets some good playtime in the preseason as well. And even more than that, I hope Sparano gives him a legit shot at winning the starting spot as well. I know he stated Penne is the starter, but if Henne looks real good, I hope he would let him play.
Eric Green (not that one) visits as UFA
The Dolphins announced today at 4 p.m. that Arizona cornerback (not the tight end) Eric Green is in town for a free agent visit. Green, 27 on March 16, has been a starter much of his time with the Cardinals the past four years. He started nine of 13 games this season but the Cardinals have prett...
Good job Armando.
Holliday free agent tour starts Thurs. [Update]
Vonnie Holliday became a free agent Monday when the Dolphins terminated his contract, but it didn't take long for teams to begin showing interest in him. Holliday fielded calls from five teams Tuesday and has visits with two of them already scheduled. The defensive end is scheduled to visit the ...
Fan - Wow man. Read my previous post. I posted in black because I wasnt registered, soon as I did my first post I went and registered my name, now it will always be blue when I post. Im not the type of person that will hide my identity or post under someone elses name to make them look bad. As for NYscott, I dont know him personally and as for anyone thinking he is a know it all, thats their opinion. Im not supporting him or his views. I only spoke up in the first place because I do not believe he is the one who made that racist post. Is it possible he logged out and posted it in black? Yes. But I doubt he did, but thats my opinion.
butch - Yes Im sure there are unsavory people that would do just that. Im not one of them though.
Curious george - I dont post often. Sometimes once a week or other times once every few weeks. But definately not daily. As for the mental midget remark, I dont consider that to be a racist remark. If others do then I apologize to any who took offense by it.
Its actually kinda sad that this is even being discussed on a Dolphins blog, its sad that people come on here and impersonate each other and post vile, racist things in an attempt to get someone banned. Its also sad that Jet and Bill fans can come here and read this crap and realize that some of the Dolphins fans are on the same level as they are. Again, my opinion.
