Hi...great question. I too use templates for inspiration, then adjust for my style. I will not buy ones I can easily do myself. I'll only purchase if it comes with some elements or goodies. I never buy quick pages as they are never exactly what I would want, or have text that matches my needs. I am currently interested in cohesive template album sets that come with coordinating supplies.
question + a chance
You have a chance to win Our Story! All you gotta do is answer this... Do you like to use templates? If so do you like them simple for super customization or more detailed so you know where specific elements go? If not how come? That's it friends! I will announce the winner tomorrow...and mayb...
Guess I'm the opposite of some...I love-love-love ORANGE right now. I've been putting orange accents in my house this year along with my layouts. I think it's joyful, energizing and exotic! I hate pink, not a baby pink, but a mauve pink. I over did it about 15 years ago in our bedroom and came to dislike it so much that to this day I can't stand anything that color.
Funny how color evokes such emotion!
question + a chance
Well, on my last post I showed a tinny sneak of Spook :) It's going to be releases tomorrow and if you answer this one simple question you just may win it! Alright.... Here's my Q..... Here it is...... Look no further.... What is your favorite color(s) to create with? What is...
Vinnie - Your fabric book is so beautiful. Love the added puffy embellishments too. About six years ago I made a fabric page for my niece who had a preemie baby in the hospital. I just printed on cotton sheeting that I taped to a piece of paper to flow through the printer. It looked really nice at the time but I'll have to ask her if the print has held up over time. I had added ribbon that I printed on in the same way. I definitely will do your template after I adjust for US letter or legal sizing. Also will incorporate Jean's tips above.
Thanks so much for the inspiration and how-to videos.

Those flowers look great. I'll head to silhouette and pick them up - then play around. Do I just cut out different sizes and start stacking them up? Love your creativity, that's why I stop by. (Of course that and your adorable family!) Love the cute cards too.
a little play before...
So...I've been doing a little playing around. I really liked doing the paper flower frame. (You can view that post here). And I wanted to make some 3D flower designs for the Silhouette. Ones that you can jazz up the way you want. I played with these and started on a canvas For the l...
Hey, thanks Karla. So nice of you to respond to my question. This is good to know. I'm going to have to upgrade from CS3 for this feature though. I searched on the web and found that "Protect Tones" was new to CS4. For now I'll just play with the opacity when burning. (But now I see that CS5 is due out any day.... now more reasons to upgrade!)
More on the Burn Tool
Ok...quick post here. Lori asked a great question " I was wondering if there is a way to control what color the burn is. Yours sort of came out gray. When I tried, mine was brownish, when I wanted gray. In other words, does the program pick the color of the burn, depending on the paper? or, c...
Me too...(always something to learn). The burning added a lot. I was wondering if there is a way to control what color the burn is. Yours sort of came out gray. When I tried, mine was brownish, when I wanted gray. In other words, does the program pick the color of the burn, depending on the paper? or, can I pick the burn color. Thanks Karla!

Creating an Album With Flow
I would like to encourage you to start and finish a mini album. I love the feeling I get when I hold a finished album in my hands. It's addictive, and it makes me want to complete more albums and share them with the people I love. I actually make an event out of it. I will organize a nice meal f...
Super cute. I love how you place elements. True artistry! Now I'm wondering if my hand can survive cutting out multiple words like that. Thanks for the inspiration and I can't wait for tomorrows tips.

Wow - this is spectacular. I've already been studying your first album to capture the feeling in a family album I've been charged to do for my siblings. I've been collecting your products, but now I need more (hee hee). Do you have any ideas how to handle old photos which can't be enlarged very much? I'm afraid I'll be lacking the variety you got by intermixing large photo layouts. Would appreciate your artist input. Thanks so much for sharing!
