About ten days ago I sent the following very politely worded message to the SPLC (Socialist Progressive Liberal Communists?). I read your review of Pamela Geller, located at http://www.splcenter.org/get-informed/intelligence-files/profiles/pamela-geller There is a lot of material in the article but I want to get clarity on a few issues you include. I have been a regular reader of Ms. Geller's blog for the past 6 years and have direct personal knowledge of some of the issues you discuss. I believe that many are being misrepresented. Here are three. 1) Regarding Barack Obama's "birth certificate" - I have carefully examined the document posted at whitehouse.gov and have absolutely no doubt in my mind that it is an electronic creation and overwhelmingly likely to be a forgery. I have shown this to numerous graphics professionals and they each agree with my findings (one of which, oddly, has never been identified by anyone else, as far as I know*). Every article I read that refers to "discredited conspiracy theories" (and similar language) about Mr. Obama's origins simply makes the statement, yet I am completely unable to find any sites that actually refute the objective evidence of the document's fraudulent nature. You do the same in your analysis of Ms. Geller (ie. ascribe a conclusion without examining the evidence), so I ask, where is the hard evidence that his long form birth certificate is a genuine document? Simple saying it is does not make it so. If there is no hard evidence - if it is simply a consensus of people who cannot believe such a fraud has been perpetrated on the American people - then please stop making the claim. If you follow the link and read the full article, you will see that "Sharon Coletti, the founder of Roswell-based InspirEd Educators and the creator of the material at issue" states that "the letters are fictitious." This is worse than bad. What the hell are we (westerners) doing putting words in the mouths of Muslims? If I were Muslim, I would rightly be horrifically offended. I recently had a brief conversation with Keith Hakim X. Ellison, Minnesota's Muslim Congressman, at the MN State Fair (he had just been interviewed at the WCCO booth, just between the MNGOP booth and Sweet Martha's cookies). He assured me that there was nothing in Shariah that required it to be the law of the land (and by implication, any Muslim who proposes as much is a misunderstander of islam), so I guess we're OK. Report from the front lines of free speech - the Republican Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We spoke freely. We offered no compromise. We offered freedom! We are rock solid united behind Tom Emmer for Governor (who has Sarah Palin's endorsement) and we have a slew of awesome candidates for numerous offices. Minnesota will be Republican come November! And.... We added a plank to our platform under national security that reads "We oppose the implementation of foreign law on American soil." The man who spoke was clear about the threat of Shariah Law and cultural encroachment and cited Rifqa and the Miami bus ads. But here's what's awesome. This plank was added after hours and hours of discussion and debate about the rest of the platform, with virtually every proposal not even being granted a hearing because people were tired and just wanted to get things done. Yet this proposal was not only granted a hearing (requiring a 2/3 vote of the thousand or so delegates remaining), there was exactly one speaker in favor and none against, and it passed nearly unanimously! The challenge is that Muslims are not like the bully on the playground. They won't back down when confronted. It will take a massive, coordinated effort to galvanize resistance. Unfortunately, so many of the big players (corporations) are dependent some sort of government permission to do what they do (FCC for broadcasters, FDA for drug companies, FDIC for banks, OSHA for manufacturers, state departments of health for doctors, etc.) and our government is currently enamored of Islam (cluebat anyone?).
