WV Fin,
I hate to lose the 3rd too but at least we are getting instant contribution out of it. We could possibly get a 4th for Ginn then. Flacco could sure use some targets...
Are the Dolphins close to Saints, Colts? No!
In the aftermath of Super Bowl XLIV, I cannot tell you how many times I've heard this phrase: The Dolphins aren't that far off from winning a Super Bowl. They played both New Orleans and Indianapolis well and should have beaten them. So they're close. The logic apparently follows that since the ...
I am always,
I agree about middle of the pack(at least until after the draft). We have had 2 solid drafts and this will be the 3rd. If henne steps up, this year is a contender, and the rest are gravy. At least Norv Turner isnt our coach. Then we would be a contender that everyone knows wont be around by the SB.

WVF,
I havent heard anything about Boldin but I think it's still a little early. Mando has a point in some ways. At the same time, I dont think BP and Sparano are trying to build a team like Indy and the Saints so its apples and oranges. The Saints were bad before Gregg Williams stepped in and I hope Nolan has the same impact here.
When healthy we were very much in the mix. We were a better team than the Jets so anything could have happened. Tempered expectations.

Thank you, Mando! I have been thinking the same about Sutton. He has experience now with Rex's system and it would be very sweet. Pagano and Fangio would be good as well. Hell, the Chargers D did a good job and I wouldnt be against John Pagano coming in. Throw out the 53 yard run and SD did good against the #1 run O in the game. Hell, throw in the 2 chipshots and SD wins.
'Attack and attack and attack some more,' please
It took me a while to write this post. I had to stop barfing at the thought of having the New York Jets continuing their improbable run through the playoffs and reaching the Super Bowl in Miami. ... And using the Dolphins locker room the week before to prepare for the Super Bowl. Yeah, I'm exagg...
I agree that the D(especially the LBs) didnt show up. I think part of that is Crowder going down really early. He is the Mike and the leader of the D. Ayodele and Torber are a servicable backups in a pinch. They are not starter material. You work with what you have.
Tortured dolphin, you are an idiot. It's easily displayed with your usage of caps. You dont know football or much about writing either. Why dont you take a quick shower and bring your computer in as well so you miss anything?
Miami's biggest problem on defense: LBs
I've been saying for two years now how badly the Dolphins need to upgrade at wide receiver. But knowing the folks that make the decisions about personnel in Miami, I've also been telling you the position that more likely will take priority this offseason in being addressed first is not wide rece...
Some of you are the biggest ret ards ever. At worst we are 7-9 with tons of injuries, bad luck and growing pains. Ask the Bucs, Lions, etc if it can get worse than now! Trifecta came in and kept less than a third of the players from the previous regime. Thats a lot of players to find. Not all of them are going to be homeruns! It's like explaining advanced physics to a 3 year old...

Mando,
I love your upfront speaking. Johnson will never play here but maybe Floyd as Carlito mentioned or even Evans from Buffalo.
Live blog of Dolphins vs. Houston right here
We got the live blog roaring to life as we get closer to kickoff. Meet me in the comments section for that. The inactives today for Miami are Tyler Thigpen at the No. 3 QB, Kory Sheets, Evan Oglesby, Andrew Hartline, Andrew Gardner, Lionel Dotson, Ikaika Alama-Francis, and Patrick Turner. Yup, ...
Ginn won the game. I glad he's back to where he was drafted. I hope to see his confidence grow and we will start to see the guy that was dominant at OSU. I'm still scared of this team though. You never know what you have. Our O is rather bad since the Saints figured out the WC and the D is always a mystery from down to down. At least we got the W!
Dolphins defeat NY Jets, 30-25!
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Wipe that sweat from your brow because this one was a three-hour thrill ride. The Dolphins, riding two, count 'em, two kickoff return touchdowns by Ted Ginn Jr., one fumble return TD by Jason Taylor, and some heart-stopping defense play by the defense on the final drive,...
Mac,
I agree with you but this is Tony's first real gig. He is making mistakes that I just cant believe but Henning has been doing this for 30+ years. He just needs to do better.
I would blame all our favorite bad players but they have to be in a position to help the team fail. They still are allowed to help bring this team down and thats is management's fault. When Mendenhall was Fin up in Pitt, he was benched for week. There is a sense of accountability on that team that we desperately need right now.
Ginn needs benched until he decides he wants to be an NFL WR. That means practicing on the Jugs until he gets it right. That means staying to tell people you Fed up and being accountable for it. That means telling Henne you want some solo practice, after practice, with him.
Saints comeback beats Dolphins, 46-34
The Dolphins hit the Saints in the mouth. They had a 68 yard touchdown run from Ricky Williams. They had two more Williams touchdowns after that. The Dolphins were leading 24-3 in the second quarter. And then reality hit. The Saints got an interception return for a touchdown. Then Drew Brees wok...
Fin Fan,
Thats just not completely realistic. It falls on the coaches primarily becuase they call the plays and prepare the team for the game. Excellent job first half, abyssmal second half. Ginn has been horrible all year. So why have the 3rd game rookie QB throw 37 passes? Who does that to a rook? Why pass when you have the #1 rushing O in the league? Why give Ronnie 16 touches. It just doesnt make sense.
Secondly, we have a very average(to bad)defense. It's Paul's(or Tony's) job to fix the problems. They are NOT getting fixed. 36 points in a half is just plain awful! Thats as pourous as the late 80s Ds. We dont have some good personel is the only excuse I give them. But Sparano says he likes the makeup of the team, so if he wants me to throw him under the bus...I'll oblige him!
Mistakes happen. Thats why you need a great gameplan(run the Fin ball!) and a way to stop big plays. We didnt do either for a half and it cost us.

Mac,
I totally agree with you. I called out Henning because of the role he plays. I didnt watch the post game cause I'm still way too pissed. The final responsibility does fall on Sparano and he is tops of my list right now.

Dolphins in SB,
We are upset about a blown win against a top tier team. We are pissed that the same mistakes seem to happen every week. We are pissed that some players just cant step up and are still playing(in a sense helping us lose or working everyone else just that much harder). We know the goal and the blueprint. That doesnt help when you watch your favorite team destroy itself in one quarter.

Mac,
I agree with you but it just wasnt one bad call. One bad call doesnt lose you a game like today. A whole lot of bad calls and bad plays brings this type of game out. It was a complete meltdown by a team that had 2 weeks to prepare. It was a total shytstorm and I blame ALL the coaches for bad decisions and preparation. I am massively disappointed too.

Mac, you are wrong. Sparano gave up 4 points and some momentum. Passing every play but eight after the half ate up zero clock and allowed Brees to do his thing. They paid 168 mil for a punishing run based O-line and then pass all of the second half. That is some shytty playcalling plain and simple.
