I watch and love a lot of television, movies, and plays. To spare my friends my detailed observations of character b's facial expression in scene 34 on episode 9, I figured I'd use this as a more appropriate space for trepanning. I'm currently obsessed with the FX series Justified, and... Continue reading

You'll have to let me know how it turns out!! (And no judgement about the instant mashed--we've all been there.)

I won't lie, it's not so much fun on a Sunday (or whenever) when you're methodically cleaning a bushel of produce; but it has made dinner every night this week so effortless!

I think the fra diavlo sauce was good enough to stand on its own--especially with a nice veggie side dish!

Its super easy to make! And that note was especially added just for you!! And without the serranos (which is how I made it last night), its incredibly mild. I would have liked the extra heat, but you can do without. The yogurt is either dolloped on top, or you can be fancy pants and make raita (by chopping finely some onion, cucumber, and tomato, and putting them into the yogurt, which you then thin out a bit with water. I also add some cumin, coriander to taste, but you dont even have to do that!)

Well, along with your lack of affection for meat, all I can say is good luck. The site that I posted about earlier, A Year of Slow Cooking, is a gluten-free site, and they do have some vegetarian cooking. If I see some gluten free recipes that look good, Ill be sure to let you know!

I bet it started with those beautiful fruit salads youve been adding to your bentos! Although next time, if Im just making this for myself, I need to tone it down. One person cannot eat 40lbs of fruit salad and not throw their digestive system out of whack!

(I'm trying out the respond-by-email feature that TypePad's just released!) Yass: I haven't worked much with Tarragon, to be honest. I might try using it in pretty simple applications, like chopping it into an oil/vinegar salad dressing or using it on chicken. Once I got more familiar with the flavor and what it might go well with, I'd branch out. Let me know what you find out! On Wed, Sep 16, 2009 at 1:10 AM, wrote:

C'est tres facile, ma chere! You know why? Because the prep only takes like 4 minutes. Chop chop, and then everything else just sits there simmering while you do other exciting things!
